The Space:

Kookaburra Retreat by Tiny Away sits in a quaint corner of the property, framed by tall gum trees and open paddocks where horses graze at their own pace. The view from our tiny house is part bushland, part wide-open farmland, and it has a way of pulling your attention outward and slowing everything down.



Our holiday homes are compact without feeling small. Everything you need is within reach, and what surrounds it does the rest of the work. Morning light filters through the gums. The sounds are mostly birds. Occasionally, a horse wanders closer than expected.



You are in Arcadia, tucked into the kind of countryside that doesn't ask anything of you. The city of Shepparton is only 15 minutes away, which means the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton, the Shepparton Art Museum, and the Shepparton Moooving Art trail are all genuinely close.



The 139-square-foot tiny home includes water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking gear, and a private bathroom with a gas-heated shower, hand basin, and eco-friendly cassette toilet.



Guest Access:

Guests are welcome to enjoy the tiny home and it's surroundings. A welcome guide inside the tiny house covers all areas of the property, along with a curated list of activities and a dedicated walking trail of reflection. The horses are friendly, so feel free to say hello.



The Neighborhood:

Kookaburra Retreat by Tiny Away sits in Arcadia, a quiet agricultural corner of Victoria surrounded by working farms, open paddocks, and the laid-back pace of the Goulburn Valley.



Just 15 minutes away, Shepparton offers plenty to explore, from the renowned Shepparton Art Museum and the riverside walking trails of the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton to the colourful Shepparton Moooving Art trail featuring more than 90 artist-painted fiberglass cows. Closer to the retreat, the Arcadia Native Fish Hatchery is also worth a visit.



The local food scene is relaxed and welcoming, with nearby favourites including Deganis Shepparton for all-day dining, The Peppermill for a casual bistro and pub experience, and the historic Ellen Frances Hotel in Violet Town for a worthwhile weekend dinner.



Getting Around:

By Car:

- From Melbourne: 2 hrs 5 mins / 183 km

- From Shepparton (nearest city): 10 mins / 17 km

- Accessible to all vehicle types, including 2WD



By Flight:

- The nearest regional airport is Shepparton Airport (YSHP), serviced by select regional carriers

- From Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), the drive to the property is approximately 2 hours and 5 mins



By Train:

- Trains run regularly from Melbourne Southern Cross Station to Shepparton

- We offer a pickup service from Shepparton Train Station (maximum 2 guests — please arrange in advance)



Other Things to Note:

- Wifi is available

- No pets are allowed

- Gas Charcoal BBQ grill is available

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Please note that more extended stays or late check-outs will incur an extra charge

- Mobile reception has good coverage for Telstra and Optus, limited coverage for the rest

- Smoking is strictly prohibited on the property. Open flames and lit materials pose a serious risk to the horses and the surrounding land.



Important note:



- For stays of 5 nights or more (or for bookings of 5 nights or more), an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
