Going out for Amsterdam or just finding your quiet spot when working or relaxing, up to four can enjoy a lovely place on one of the Canals. Everything is within reach, as well as a filmmuseum, 100m high lookout or just a nice restaurant next to the water or even beach. Also going out for nature is a 15 min tour on a bike or car. Or visit one of the famous Musea Amsterdam has by walking up to one of the free Ferries and get into the tram or metro. Even by bike it is only 20 minutes away. Your host has a lot of knowledge on where one can go, all depending if it needs to be a local, cultural experience or just for food and good music. It's all there you just have to make something good out of it.

Houseboat experience
Having never stayed in a houseboat, this was an experience we couldn't miss. The space was efficient and well equiped. It was a thrill to ride the ferry every day and the houseboat was only a short walk from the ferry stop. Highly recommend!

Property is in transition. Will b. Lovely when rooms, garden and deck are complete. Staying on this side of Amsterdam and taking the ferry to city center allowed us to see a part of the city that we would not have been exposed to on the other side of the river.

Lovely quirky houseboat in perfect location
We had a great stay, with lots of excellent assistance and communications from Edwin. This is a unique way to enjoy Amsterdam, close to this beautiful city (a free ferry ride right to Centraal station is 10 mins walk/ 2 mins cycle), but also a peaceful spot close to lovely countryside. We hired bikes and rode out through fields to villages, then straight onto the very regular ferry and into the city... the place is cosy, well appointed. bedrooms are small but fine for family of four for a short stay. loved it, and Edwin was super helpful.

Ruhiges, aber dennoch zentral gelegenes Hausboot
Wir haben fünf Tage in Amsterdam auf dem Hausboot verbracht. Die Wohnung ist ein eigener abgeschlossener Teil eines größeren Hausboots, in dem auch die Eigentümer wohnen. Die Lage ist recht zentral. Mit etwa 10 Minuten Fußweg erreicht man die Fähre, die kostenlos alle paar Minuten übersetzt und am Hauptbahnhof (im Zentrum der Stadt) anlegt. In etwa 15 bis maximal 20 Minuten ist man inklusive Fußweg dort. Ein Supermarkt ist etwa 5 Minuten Fußweg entfernt. Das Hausboot liegt in einer Gracht, die eine "Sackgasse" ist, und daher sehr ruhig liegt. Die Wohnung hat alles, was man braucht und ist gut eingerichtet. Die Schlafzimmer sind recht klein und kompakt, aber fürs Schlafen ausreichend. Das Bad ist - ebenso wie der Rest der Wohnung - neu gemacht und sehr schön. Das Wohnzimmer mit Küche ist auch recht kompakt, war für uns vier Personen aber vollkommen ausreichend. Vom Wohnzimmer aus kann man direkt ins Wasser springen und in der Gracht schwimmen. Insgesamt hat es uns sehr gut gefallen, alles was wir brauchten war da. Der Vermieter, Edwin, war hilfsbereit, stand immer für Fragen und Unterstützung zur Verfügung, und war sympathisch. Wir kommen gern mal wieder - ob mit oder ohne Teenager:-)

A CENTRAL AND QUIET HEAVEN WITH GREAT SERVICE
THIS IS A CENTRAL PLACED HEAVEN THAT AT THE SAME TIME GIVES YOU A QUIET PLACE TO WITHDRAW TO AFTER A BUZY DAY IN THE STREETS OF AMSTERDAM. THE SERVICE FROM THE LANDLORD IS FANTASTIC, AND SO IS THE COMMUNICATION. THE PLACE WAS CLEAN WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED FOR THE STAY. DRINKING OUR MORNING COFFE/TEA ON THE FLOATING TERRACE WAS JUST A PERFECT START ON OUR DAYS IN AMSTERDAM. OR A GLAS OF WINE IN THE EVENINGS. WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Cute, Convenient VRBO
Edwin's houseboat is a lovely little property, with all the essentials. It was very clean, excellent shower setup, and the 10-15 minute walk to the ferry across the IJ to Central Station makes the location quite convenient. Edwin was a wonderful, accommodating host, and was quick to respond to my messages. Thanks again, Edwin!

Modern house boat for great short city break
Lovely location on a quiet canal away from the old city centre. It is very close to modern attractions such as the Eye museum, Lookout Tower and This is Holland but also has very easy access by ferry, which links directly to the main transport hub (train, metro, bus) as well as to the old city centre. Accommodation is quite compact (we are a family of four, two teenagers) but was very clean and modern and perfect for a short stay.It was a novelty to watch the ducks and moorhen swimming by while we had breakfast! Edwin was very helpful, responding to any online queries really quickly and was a great source of advice and tips while we were staying. Would highly recommend and would book again.

Great location to see the heart of Amsterdam
My husband and two daughters stayed here and it was a wonderful location. The house was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. Edwin was very helpful with places to visit and made us feel so welcome. Everyday we walked the short distance to the free passenger ferry where we could then explore museums, canals, and enjoy all types of food. We would definitely stay here again!

Only minutes to free 24/7 ferry to downtown Amsterdam, close to all, restaurants, supermarkets, bike rentals, etc. Very quiet area. Great host, good communications, fast check in, available for advice on where to go.

Geburtstagsgeschenk Amsterdam
Unser Aufenthalt war sehr schön obwohl das Wetter leider nicht mitgespielt hat. Die Lage des Hausbootes ist perfekt und Edwin sehr nett. Leider hat unser "Geburtstagskind" ein paar Dinge zu beanstanden gehabt. Es gibt im 2. Schlafzimmer kein Fenster. Es fehlten u.a. ein Fernseher und eine Terrasse. Für 4 Personen ist es definitiv zu klein.

Great experience!!
Who wouldn’t want to stay in a real houseboat in Amsterdam….seriously? We so enjoyed our stay there. Out your living room window were all kinds of ducks swimming by. Nature is all around you. The area is very quiet at night which was what we wanted. Each evening, we sat around the kitchen table with wine, and charcuterie, sharing photos, and planning the next days’ activities. Lots of laughs! We were not far from the historic centre- it is a very short 10 min walk to the ferry which took us to the Central train station and onward from there. It’s a walking city but beware of the cyclists, they rule!! In all, we really enjoyed our stay at the houseboat! Add that to our bucket list!! Thanks Edwin and Bia!

Nice days
We had a nice day in Noord. It was very quiet there and it is also conveniently located for city trips. Edwin is a very nice landlord and the apartment is modern, very clean and well laid out. The rooms are narrow but cozy and there is a patio door in the living room that you can open. We liked it and would like to come back again.
