Klasse met een hart
Dit was het enige hotel dat werkte met een zelftest, door hun aangeboden trouwens. Verder is het personeel professioneel maar ook hartelijk. Ligging, faciliteiten en service zijn geweldig. Enige kleine obstakel dat wij ervaarden, was dat de zwembadzone beperkt is en kan overweldigd worden als er wat kleine kinderen beginnen te roepen etc. Daaraan kan het hotel zelf niet zoveel doen, tenzij een apart kids bad creëren. Bar en resto hebben inderdaad een beperkt menu, maar pricing en kwaliteit zijnzeer correct, en op loopafstand zijn er heel wat lokale restaurants. Dus overall ‘ een luxe oase’

Beautiful property with fabulous views from patio and balcony. Very good breakfast with best pasteries we've had in Portugal. Great staff and very good food both on the patio and the restaurant. We have been in 7 hotels during our trip in Portugal and this is by far the most impressive so far...5 star accomodations.

Fantastic location overlooking the river. If relaxing in a luxury accommodation is what you are after, this is the hotel for you. Food and beverage options are fantastic. The only downside was the walk to your room with your luggage was long and difficult.

This supposed 5 stars hotel charged us 368 euros per night, but offers zero amenities, they do not have a SPA, the rooms are old, the river view was blocked by trees, no elevator to access to the rooms, and the grand finale was the train passing each hour making the building tumble. We decided to leave the hotel and change into a better one.

Quarto e banheiros sensacionais: espaçosos, limpos e muito bem decorados. A cama e travesseiros são inesquecíveis. Suíte bem confortável em uma propriedade hoteleira espaçosa, com uma vista incrível do Rio Douro é muito bem localizada no distrito de Pinhão. Recomendo! Sobre o café da manhã, não podemos avaliar pq optamos por fazer esta refeição nas padarias próximas ao Hotel e valeu muito a pena! Em especial a Cafeteria “Pão D’Ouro”, que tem a melhor francesinha que saboreamos em Portugal!

Great hotel!
My husband and I had a wonderful time in The hotel and the area. Service was great. The breakfast delicious and the hotel restaurant was amazing. The room was comfortable and a good size. The only things we would rather to be a little different to make our time there pristine was the air conditioner that it wasn’t cooling the room enough and the head shower that was the loose ones you find mostly in Europe. All in all a really good time.

Old expensive no working air condition!
The hotel is best located on the Douro very Unic but it’s doesn’t make sense if the room is very old and the air conditioning is old and only makes noise but doesn’t work and doesn’t cool the room!!! You can’t sleep!!! It’s very expensive and don’t worth it!!!!!

A most beautiful place
The only question remaining after our visit was: Is this one the most spectacular hotel locations in the world? If you are a wine lover and you appreciate vineyards and 5 star class food, then the answer could be yes! The Vintage House is first class, and with half/board, represents a great value. The staff are professional and friendly. The breakfast is perhaps the biggest buffet I have seen outside a large cruise ship. The evening meal on the second night, was the best gourmet meal from our three week stay in Portugal, and we had many other fantastic meals! We would highly recommend; they have an extensive wine/port cellar and the concierge directed us to some great vineyard tours. Vintage House exceeded our expectations.

The location of this property on the banks of the Douro and the grounds of the hotel were both wonderful. Very easy access to boat tours along the Douro and a great walk along the river bank. This is a great old hotel with character but our room was a bit tired and dated compared to our rooms at other hotels we stayed at throughout Portugal. The salad my wife ordered at the bar was small and tasteless.

Our room was great with a lovely view of the river and the valley. The staff was very helpful and kind. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and the hotel restaurant staff brought a cake with a candle. And when we got back to our room, a bucket with champagne and glasses was waiting for us! It was such a wonderful surprise! On our last night we sat outside the beautiful garden overlooking the pool and the river and enjoyed our drink and cheese plate before having dinner at Bomfin just a short walk from the hotel.
