'Great hotel in nice manor. The house itself is very well preserved notwithstanding the modern extensions and the modernisation of the interior. Great space rooms and good facilities like a pleasant swinging pool. We did eat in York before our arrival but the restaurant seems good, the breakfast there was excellent. Good place to stay when visiting York.'

'My fifth time at the Grantham Arms in 4 years and it's always excellent. Lovely staff, fun, clean rooms and really comfortable beds. What's not to love about a place that maintains such consistently good standards? Breakfast was also beautifully cooked as well.'

'Groot hotel, met veel oudere gasten die met bus komen. De kamer was erg klein. Je kon nauwelijks om het bed heen komen. Eten: erg veel en met weinig liefde bereid. Leuk ongedwongen personeel. Fraai aangelegd park met zitgelegenheid. Toegankelijk voor rolstoeler, maar geen aangepaste kamers genoeg voor alle hulpbehoevende mensen.'

'Stayed here on business and ticket all the right boxes. The room was a bit warm though, despite that the heat had dropped off these last few days. Nice bar area and nice selection of ales. The restaurant was in a real pretty setting. Easy parking in the vicinity of the hotel and they even had parking spaces in front of the rooms which are at the back of the property. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. '

'Het hotel bevindt zich op een groot parkeerterrein (services) met diverse eetgelegenheden. Leeds en York zijn goed te bereiken. Kamers zijn ruim en comfortabel. Helaas was de volgende dag onze kamer niet schoongemaakt en hier kwam niet echt een professionele reactie op, later wel excuses.'

'Very comfy big bed, shower and taps took ages to get hot, but eventually did. Lots of tea and coffee options in room together with a fridge with wine and snacks if required. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. Bit strange going in and out at back of the building, but happy to recommend as somewhere central to stay.'

'If you want a relaxed break this is a great hotel to book, just come back from a weekend away. What a joy to stay somewhere with such amazing staff. Room was lovely very clean comfy bed. Great breakfast we also dined in the restaurant and bar which was really nice. Had a three hour spa to finish off our stay. Will definitely be back.'

'Rooms here are great, each one is quirky in their own way, and a lovely touch to have radio playing in room as background music on arrival. The 2 ladies that greeted us on arrival were welcoming and showed us all (4 guests) to our rooms. Evening meal in the bar was great too, cold and frosty outside, the pub reminded me as something out of The Holiday!!!'

'We had a really good stay. The cottage is beautiful and equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need. Our son really enjoyed the garden, in particular the Wendy House which was also kitted out with toys, which was a lovely bonus. The village is peaceful but perfect for a nice walk. We would thoroughly recommend the property and would stay again. '

'The room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. Access was easy using the door enrty codes provided. Wifi was good and easy to log onto. The Guest house was also vey quiet, with no disturbances. I used the breakfast room before I left, and ate granola, greek yoghurt and blueberries with a Coffee latte. These were dispensed from a vending machine, but were fresh and tasted lovely. Bowls, mugs and cuttlery were available. The staff I met were also friendly and chatty. I would highly recommend...

'Fantastic hotel. Staff are really friendly. They treated our daughter to a chocolate bar for her birthday. The pantry of treats for guests is fantastic too. The rooms are lovely. The food is great. A great atmosphere. We will be back. '
