Great house
My college friends and stayed here for a short weekend trip. It was a very nice and clean house. The property manager stayed in communication and was very helpful. We also hiked at Cuyahoga Valley NP which is only about 25-30 minutes away from the house. Over all we had a great experience and we would stay there again in the future!

Perfect getaway
I rented this for a small group of friends for my 30th birthday and it was the perfect retreat! It was a great size for the 8 of us and the property was beautiful!! The host was super responsive and was able to fix the temperature for us immediately when I reached out to say it was a little warm in the house. The only thing I would warn future guests about is a tiny 1” ledge that runs through the middle of the main area that we kept tripping on until we used a reflective piece of decoration I had brought on the step to help remind us. We had such a great time and I would totally book it again!

Great stay at the lakes for the eclipse
Wonderful stay in this lovely, comfy home on the lake. Everything was clean and kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Loved that we could bring our dog and that the yard is fully fenced. Would love to come back in warmer weather to swim & kayak the lake.

Family getaway, fun & relaxing
We stayed at this lake house while visiting our son at Kent State. It was the perfect place for our family to hang out together and enjoy some fun and relaxation. Very peaceful location with beautiful view, really enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. They had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, beds were very comfortable, kitchen was fully equipped, and there are many board games which our family enjoyed. The host was quick to respond to messages and very accommodating when we had questions or requests. We ate at Tres Potrillos in Tallmadge on her recommendation and it was definitely the best Mexican food! We had pizza delivered from Upper Crust and ate at The Boathouse for breakfast and both were very good. We will definitely return for future visits to see our son, we could not have found a better place to stay.

Beautiful Lake Property
We spent one night for a friend’s birthday and even with our gloomy fall rainy weather, this property was a great place to stay! The hot tub is under cover and the place is a lot more spacious than the pictures show. It had a great view, plenty of seating and was very clean.

This a nice clean and quiet place despite being close to other houses. The location is nice as well. The mattress was terribly hard and the Wi-Fi signal was rather weak.

Home away from home!
Our stay was so relaxing! Everything we needed wad right at our fingertips, and the landlord was easy to contact and quick to respond to any questions. We couldn't have picked a better week to enjoy our stay. I highly recommend this lovely property to anyone wanting to get away for a few days like we did, or for an entire vacation stay when visiting Ohio!

Quick Over Nighter
Eight of us went to a concert in Cuyahoga Falls and did a quick over night stay to relax before leaving the next morning. We had everything we needed and the view was amazing. Highly recommend and definitely would stay longer next time to enjoy the area more.

great location
We had a good stay and the property manager communicated with me quickly. The only thing I would caution anyone about is there are lots of stairs and the pictures of the ones in the front of the house are deceiving, they are bigger than they look. Also two bigger rooms are upstairs when you first walk in and everything else is downstairs. The two bigger rooms also share a bathroom.

Lakefront at Portage Lakes!
Our family of 8 had a wonderful time at this house! We planned a quick family getaway before our youngest goes to college! The home is located on a beautiful ,peaceful , fun section of the lake! The neat clock tower and several nice waterfront restaurants are nearby! The views of the lake in the home are amazing! The home is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. I loved all the lake decorations and wood flooring throughout ! The bedding was higher end and very comfortable! We had plenty of space , and the kitchen is well stocked. The coffeemaker brews in one minute and their was a tabletop ice maker for drinks!The patio is amazing for hot tub, playing games and long family talks around the awesome fire pit! The pontoon boat is nice and very comfortable, much nicer than a rental at 619. As the owners mention the stairs are very steep to get down and up from the home, not suited for elderly or disabled persons. The owners were very nice and responsive. The home felt very well cared for and we enjoyed some of the nice touches! I hesitate to write this review as I don’t want this secret to get out, we hope to be able to visit this house again !!

Wonderful getaway!
We had a great stay at this beautiful lake house. The property owners had everything we needed at the house, and the communication with the owners was awesome. We rented their pontoon boat which is located right at their dock. Very nice and convenient.

Perfect mid-week stay…
The house was clean, functional, and was decorated perfectly for the location. Beautifully landscaped. Very peaceful at night…they are not playing around when they say quiet time is after 10pm. Did not have any neighbor issues or outside annoyances. Hot tub + fire pit + patio/deck + lake = Perfect Stay. Lakes/canals were not busy on our Weds-Fri stay. I did not meet Amanda, but she was super friendly and helpful via email/text. Very responsive and obviously willing to fix any little issue if there had been any.

Nice halfway point between Chicago & DC
Lovely little lake house in Ohio. The owners were very nice and responsive, however, it was irritating to have to contact so they could control the thermostat because we didn’t want to bother them more than once we sort of dealt with it. No access to washing machine which would have been nice. Outdoor furniture and cushions were dirty, there were dead bugs on the swinging chair I was excited to use. Fire pit and hot tub nice and clean. View was lovely. Unfortunately the screen doors and windows had gaps for critters to enter so kept them closed. Some old left over soap was provided and lots of hand sanitizer. Sheets and towels were clean but I brought my own. Toilet paper was worse than offered at Ohio service stations…thank goodness I had my wipes. Air freshener plug ins were empty. The landscaping was lovely though and our dog enjoyed it. Do note that the walkway down to the house is steep and not good if you have a disability or injury. Also, the bathroom upstairs is shared between two bedrooms and the door is sliding and there are gaps so little privacy. Also, the shower is tiny so not great if you’re claustrophobic or a larger individual. Downstairs shower had a giant spider but that’s expected at a lake lol. We never stayed in Ohio before and only lakes were Lake Michigan and Lake Tahoe but lovely small lake area and water looked clean great if you fish. I would stay here again as it is a wonderful spot halfway between Chicago and DC.

In response to this review, we would like to remind guests inquiring about our lake home that it is ON THE WATER. There will be bugs, mosquitoes, and an occasional spider, fallen leaves and sticks on the patio. We can’t control nature. This home is a quaint cottage style walkout that was built in 1940 and was meant to be used as a weekend lake home. It sits at the bottom of a hill, so we do stress the stairs are very steep and not suitable for the very young or the elderly. The home you walk into is exactly as we describe in the listing, we welcome dogs with a fenced front and back yard, and we respond to our guests promptly. We discontinued the use of air fresheners because too many people were sensitive to the fragrance. We still have them has a night light in the bathroom. The hand soap in each bathroom are pump style from bath and body works, not sure if this guest wanted a new bottle put out, but she never mentioned it during her stay. We are confused as to why the is rating is only three stars, because everything she didn’t like about the features of the home, we have mentioned in the listing. Perhaps a home away from the lake would have been better suited for this guest. For the guests wanting a beautiful view, pontoons, and lake life, WELCOME TO THE LAKE! :)

Enjoyed having our 2 beagles with us during our stay
Enjoyed the fenced in back yard, the fire pit, the view of the lake, and the nearby restaurants, as well as the complementary bottle of wine left for us on the table. Sleep number adjustable bed in the “master” was a very welcome surprise! Very glad to have had use of all 3 parking spaces. Do wish for there to have been a little more room in the refrigerator for the items we brought with us to enjoy during our stay.

Beautiful view! Wonderful property right on the water. Ohio treated us to the best November weather. Breakfast on the patio, relaxed in the hot tub, sat by the fire and just enjoyed the peace of the water. Great round table for game playing.
