Not the experience I was hoping for.
We booked the swim-up suite, this was a total rip-off, we did not use it once, our room did not get direct sunlight, the swim-up pool was in a part of the garden where we were isolated from the whole hotel, so it was not enjoyable to be there during the day with two teenagers, so we did not use the swim-up once. The food is decent, the onsite restaurants have very limited menus and we mostly used the buffet. Drinks are well available and they have a good selection of different brands. Check in was a bad experience, first they gave two room that were not close to one another, then they moved one room, and we were still not on the same swim-up pool. After 1.5 hours they finally gave us two connecting rooms, basically we wasted the afternoon on this. (I did indicated in my reservation the request for rooms that were connecting). The nice swim-up rooms are only available if you buy the preferred guest option. Our room key did not work, so during the stay we entered through our kids room. Some issues that needed to be fixed in the room, took three times to report. The beach is very nice and the waterpark provides good entertainment, we had a good holiday, but I would almost say inspite of the hotel, would not go back.

We had an amazing stay at this property, we booked three rooms for 6 nights and our stay couldn’t have been better. Javier our concierge was the best, he helped with everything from dinner reservations, to setting up one of the rooms for a birthday and then helped with making the whole stay amazing. He went above and beyond to show us what true customer service is, will definitely be recommending this property to others.

I went on a vacation with my daughter. We booked for 5 days. I want to say that the staff was very professional. The food was TERRIBLE. They served the same food everyday. The only thing they would do is add a different ingredient so it can seem different, but it's not. If you don't eat beef nor pork. Then this is not the resort for you. PORK AND BEEF IS BIG HERE! The drinks are TERRIBLE. They DO NOT HAVE TOP SHELF LIQUOR AT ALL, so please don't go there expecting to much. The pools close at 6 pm. The hibachi restaurant is not good at all ( Spice). The cook was not engaging at all to his customers. He was rushing. The resort is big for nothing. You have to walk every where. They don't have a lot of parties for the guests. They don't have thatany activities for adults. I don't drink from their cups because i killed a roach ( I have pictures) which was crawling from the mini bar at the buffet area.

Stayed at Dreams Onyx 5/16-5/19 with my husband and one and half year old. Had a junior swim up suite which had a separate sitting area where we put the pack and play and then put our own curtain up to make a bedroom area for baby. Room was clean and plenty of space for all of our stuff. The pool right outside of our room was perfect for nap time and when he went to bed early. We would hang out outside and would get drinks brought to us. Having the private pool was great for having a young child. Food was good for all inclusive our favorite was the steak house. We had no problems getting a spot at the beach and baby had plenty of room to play with all his beach toys. Overall a beautiful resort and a relaxing vacation.

Beautiful resort and great food! All the staff are very nice and helpful. Breilin was the best Private concierge! He booked our restaurant reservations , transportation, and excursions. We did not have to stress about booking activities outside the resort. Ask for Breilin for your Private concierge!!!

I booked this stay to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday , we did the upgrade to the preferred club which included a butler , our butlers name was Javier . Javier was absolutely great , he checked up on us frequently and made sure we always had something to do . He was very attentive, and nothing short of amazing . However , this is not an adults only resort . You need to upgrade to have access to the resort next door which is adults only . The room was great and the service we received from everyone was excellent.

We love dreams, Onyx Punta, Cana. We’ve been four times now and without mentioning that they upgraded us to premiere and made us feel like family coming home. We get this from up room for our two kids and have a wonderful time as a family. We can walk, barefoot from our room to the beach and enjoy friendly faces along the way, the staff is excellent from Javier, Peter, cinnamon, cappuccino, Vladimir, Simon, and all the entertainment staff so much fun and helpful always we look forward to our next trip already! When we go we stay for 9 days and it feels like home away from home. We celebrate birthdays, Mother’s Day the spa is amazing.

The front desk staff was rude after we told her we was not interested in the timeshare presentation. We needed 2 reservations merged so that we would not have to change rooms and she did not assist with that. We had to go back to the front office the following day and someone else assisted us. Property was really clean. The ladies in the ice cream shop were really nice. The DJs at Dreams and Breathless left a lot to be desired at the pools, club, and the main stage. The best food was at the steakhouse.

This has been my favorite resort so far. The staff here are amazing and Javier was very helpful and an excellent communicator with daily updates on activities at the resort. We had access to both Dreams Onyx and the Breathless resort so food options were almost unlimited. This resort has the been food so far and I’ve been to 7 resorts I the past years. The only downside for me is the doors don’t have a top security lock - so housekeeping can key in whenever whether you use the top lock or not

Great resort with great food and drinks. The resort has plenty of amenities to keep the family entertained. My concierge Javier was extremely helpful. Definitely made our stay better. Great pool area that clean with plenty of chairs. Highly recommend this hotel

Spent four nights at Dreams Onyx with our family and two other familes. The beach and pools were the big highlights, especially the water park at the Explorers Club. The staff and service were great, but the food was OK.

First time in Punta Cana and I wasn’t disappointed. Definitely will go back at Dream Onyx. We had the best butler (Franklin) and we would love to have him again as butler. Great and clean resort, excellent food,great staff . Definitely recommended, you’ll not waste your money booking at Dream Onyx.

Upon arriving at Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa in the Dominican Republic, my family and I were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Preferred Club, where we experienced VIP treatment throughout our stay. From the private check-in to the attentive service of our Butler, Javier, every detail was meticulously arranged. Javier went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even organizing dinner reservations and transportation. His daily communication was greatly appreciated. Staying here was an absolute pleasure, and we look forward to returning in the future.
