Room was large and clean although a little dated. There is newer buildings on the resort. The food was good but not a lot of options in à la carte restaurants. One thing not to miss are the fish tacos at the snack bar by the adult pool!! They had top shelf liquor and brand name beer. had to ask several times for facecloths and water and pop...would not give me club soda...I hate pepsi... theres no coke ..room way too far from adult pool and beach...room was only VERY basically cleaned ...biggest thing ... way too many people and not enough real estate to allow comfortable seating at adults only pool!!! People were putting their towels down and reserving loungers at 2:00 in the morning!! It was always the same people that had the premium chairs! I get it ....the early bird gets the worm... and this is a problem at almost all resorts .but when you're room is so far from pool its pretty hard to get a decent chair... I'm there on holidays...I don't wanna get up in the middle of the night to reserve a chair.... by the time I get back to my room I'm totally awake! At 2/3/4 in the morning!!!!!Also caught on camera was people going down and moving other peoples stuff after they claimed their chairs and security did nothing about it despite having surveillance video.... Music was WAY TOO LOUD!!! If you are sitting in pool area hopefully you have earplugs cause seriously it was rattling my brain!!!! I love music and the music that was played was very good but WAY to loud and they kept turning it up Some people are there for rest relaxation and quietness! All the food was very tastey... that was good ...Did get quite sick ... sure it was food bourne illness ....never had that before in Mexico.. but its bound happen with so many people....Anyway...keep working on it!

I really want to give the hotel 4 stars because the staff were amazing and they alone would have increased this rating. I don’t usually give feedback but if you are thinking about staying here there are a couple of things that should mentioned. The AC may need to be cleaned out as our room had a peculiar smell and I had problems with my sinuses, perhaps to do with this? There was no entertainment at night and if we went for dinner too early, it was one long night. There is no lounge area that accommodates many people. There is a sports bar however has little seating and the same goes for the Sky bar which is overrated. The lobby lounge has a very small bar and again hardly any seats available. If the price is right for you and you have a family, there did appear to be a great sized family pool and some entertainment during the day. The hotel is situated in a good location to jump in a taxi and head off to Puerto Vallarta for the day and has plenty of seating on the beach.

I didn’t love the cut-throat chair reservations at 6am, also the buffet was good but not good enough to make up for restaurant reservations to be booked out 48 hours, I did like that there were bars that stayed open late but the swimming pools closed way too early. I think they closed at like 7:00, they would try to make up for it with events that were wildly underwhelming. VERY LIMITED room service menu, it was like 5 items and a surcharge. The beach 5/5 stars, perfect sand, perfect surf, perfect weather, no riptide. There were several vendors but I like vendors, they had boogie boards to rent and tumblers for purchase, EVERYTHING you need and a bunch of stuff you don’t need too. Staff was friendly, drinks were good, if you put 100k into that roof bar you could get another star easy…

It is a really nice resort. the food is very good, the room was very nice, staff were friendly and it’s right on the beach where you can walk for miles. Not a lot in the way of big entertainment-it’s very low key, but that suited us fine. If you are looking for a lot of nightlife, shops, etc, it’s better to stay closer to PV, but we really enjoyed the quiet. We walked into Bucerías on a nice path, rented bikes (extra cost but right on the property) and met a lot of nice people. We had the altitude club, building 4 9th floor. there are 4 rooms on that floor that have a solid wall on the balcony, so you can’t see the ocean when you are sitting. ( 4914, 4915 4916 for sure.) We asked to move, but they were full, so we saw the lovely view only when standing. they should get high stools, and that would make those rooms just as good. 10th floor is the best I think. Beds were comfortable. Housekeeping was inconsistent, one day they came in twice, the next not at all, but we didn’t need much and they had a lot of rooms to cover. Even though they were full, it never felt crowded anywhere and we always had a nice table. We really enjoyed our stay here, and were sad to leave!

The room was clean, Oxxo was just walking distance from the property. Oscar and Fatima in the grill restaurant were amazing but we did encounter a very rude staff member at the Ayami restaurant -the hosts, we had a 9pm dinner reservation arrived at 9:06pm and we waited for someone to greet us and when she did she mentioned how we were late and can no longer seat us. My husband exchanged a few words with her and another staff member mentioned how there were plenty of tables available so it wasn’t a big deal. The host kept arguing back with the other staff member so we just left and ask for a table at the grill restaurant, which by the way it the host gave

The first room we were in had a problem with the draining of the sink. They attended to the problem and moved us to another room. I was impressed with the way they handled the issue. We were treated extremely well and I would recommend this resort. The buffet and restaurants were very good and the staff was attentive and kind. I would recommend this resort to family and friends.

Had a great stay with our kids and their spouses for a family trip of 6 that they also enjoyed. Food was great both in the buffet and restaurants. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Pool is great with swim up bar and awesome bartenders. Beach is great with some shade provided with umbrellas. Just have to get up early to reserve a chair by the pool or the beach. This was the second trip for my wife and I and will be back again. Stayed in the Junior suite with ocean view. Highly recommend.

AC in our room did not work. The hallways and stairwells were very dirty and were only cleaned occasionally. The whole resort appeared to be very understaffed. The staff at Altitude were great but there was a definite language barrier with other staff.

We just did a week at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta, and we loved it. Our group included my wife and our three kids (7-12), our friends: a couple with two kids (5-10), and my dad and his partner (both in their mid-70s). The resort layout, the food, the beach, the staff, and the price point are what will bring us back. Gold (Expedia) wristbands: My most significant takeaway after arriving was that because we booked through Expedia, we received gold wristbands, which got us (from what I can tell) the same practical benefits as Altitude members, despite that we had booked a basic family room. We got private check-in in the Altitude lounge (no lineup at front desk), 24/7 access to said lounge, and our luggage delivered/retrieved from the lobby to our rooms when we needed it. We also were able to get reservations at the a la carte restaurants for every night except the last one, which was fine with us. The staff were attentive, friendly, and had good English. Our room had a couple of minor issues that were remedied in short order. The shower drain needed to be unclogged, maintenance guy showed up in less than an hour. When we asked chairs for our ground floor patio, they were delivered quickly, as was a rollaway bed for our biggest kid. One room-related issue (which is a super minor one) was that we didn’t have a clothesline to dry wet swimsuits in the shower. In summary, we had an excellent trip at this resort, and we wish we could have stayed for longer. We will be back!

Our room was very nice, a little bit outdated, but it definitely needed some TLC. The fridge only had one setting “low” so nothing was ever very cold. I only let the cleaning staff in my room once because I wanted the floors swept and the bathroom cleaned, and all they did was make the beds and leave clean towels

The room was fantastic, very clean. The staff all over the resort went out of their way for us. Josefina our concierge was amazing. She was so very helpful and made us feel right at home. If you like quality and comfort, do not come here. The staff is friendly and willing to serve you, but there is only so much they can achieve. The hotel puts out just enough effort to get by. Starting with the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion should have a warning label. It burned my eyes. The bed, bring your own pillows. The mattresses are hard. Bed covering are old. The couch says don’t sit here. The rooms are not comfortable or welcoming. This place is a retirement hotel. Restaurants. Food is okay. Not many options. Very limited as well as snacks. The drinks have an aftertaste. The furniture in restaurants and beach are so outdated. Let’s say you need to make reservations for dinner way in advance. That’s if you are able to reserve. (You will be stuck at buffet). Oh and at the beach, rise with the sun to get your lounge chair. Like I said the staff is very willing. The spa was nice thanks to the staff. Bring your own nail polish. I tried leaving early but Krystal refused to work with Expedia. Oh. Try buying the black bracelet. With black bracelet you can get drinks with no after taste. They have about 5 different colored bracelets. It’s just a hot cheap mess.

No wifi in our room at all which was unfortunate as the only time we were interested in catching up on emails etc was just before bed. We aren’t interested in spending time on our phones during the day when we’re enjoying vacation. The food was average- we found something to eat everyday so can’t complain there. Our air conditioner stopped working at one point but they did promptly fix it. We paid extra for “elite” status or whatever they call it and bell boys didn’t even offer to take our luggage to our room on check in or pick it up on check out which is usually standard at most resorts. The resort doesn’t enforce rules about reserving sun loungers so there were tons of people reserving their chairs the night before and therefore no chairs to be found by the pool or beach unless you were down there at 0500H to reserve. When we brought this up with the pool boys they didn’t seem to do much about it. Overall it was an okay vacation but I can’t say I’ll be back. I do want to give a strong commendation to a few servers who went above and beyond to make our experience great. Thank you to Luisx2 (restaurant and bar), Gustavo, Ignacio, and Alejandro for your exceptional service.
