'This is an amazing hotel in Gion. Despite being in a very popular area, the rooms are spacious and very nice, almost elegant. The staff at the front desk were always welcoming and helpful. They helped us with luggage shipping and taxis. This really is a perfect hotel and I would stay longer next time. '

Was so nice returning here at the end of the day with all the tourists around you it’s just one simple door from the street and you’re transported to the oasis of Sowaka. 'A beautiful Kyoto house, thoughtfully and tastefully furnished yet comfortable for modern life with great view of the Yasaka pagoda. Every possible thing needed had been provided. We loved the bathroom. The little library was fantastic, and I loved to sit upstairs in the morning and watch the sun come up over eastern hills with a coffee and a book. 'We were a little surprised how well this hotel was rated. It wasn't bad, just not as exceptional as the ratings reflect. There were only 2 pillows in the room, and when I ask for more the staff informed me there were none. At a hotel? No pillows? The room was clean enough, but not spotless.
