I had booked a room with a king-sized bed through Expedia only for the desk clerk who was checking me in to tell me that no more rooms with a king bed were available. Instead my girlfriend and me were placed in a room with twin full-sized sized beds. I expressed my dissatisfaction and demanded to be given some form of compensation or a partial refund. The clerk seemed to be annoyed by that and repeatedly said “I’m just letting you know” as if I was supposed to be content with his bad news. By him repeating that phrase, I felt negated and displeased. I also disliked when the clerk uttered the line “There’s nothing we can do”, which is unacceptable. I understand that things happen but I should've been notified of this change in plans before arriving to the hotel, not at check-in. I said to him “what is the point of making a reservation?” then if I don't get the type of room I reserved. He did give us complimentary drinks at the bar mainly beer or wine, which still didn't satisfy me. I would've preferred a credit or partial refund. Learn how to run your hotel better and how to work in conjunction with third-party affiliates like Expedia when booking a reservation moving forward.
