B&B in Whitby

'Was a nice place, the inside was much nicer than the outside, the breakfast was great but the pub is noisy. They do close at 11 and things quiet down quickly after that. To be expected at an inn like this but was slightly annoying after a long day walking. '

'Simply stunning place to stay. Tucked away at the end of a picturesque country lane. Accommodation is top drawer. Peaceful and very relaxing. Walkable into Sandsend for fish and chips. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast - top notch. A real gem. '

'Lovely place to stay. Great hosts, really friendly and very helpful. Fernleigh is on a nice quiet street. A couple of good pubs just round the corner. The owners even mòved their car so we could tuck our motorbike on the drive. Would recommend without question. Oh,and a first class breakfast with proper tea!'

'Another great stay at Grosmont House. It was really convenient for access to/from Grosmont Station as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The room was clean nicely arranged, it had all the accessories you’d need. The staff, yet again, were fantastic and friendly! The breakfast was brilliant too! We shall be back again!'

'Lovely friendly welcome and very attentive. Rooms are in the middle of being decorated however that doesn't detract from the comfort or amazing views. Good location for the train station 🙂 Liked the pack in the room with the story of Beggar's Bridge, we had a walk down to it after a delicious breakfast and ended up carrying along through the woods. 'The property is really nicely done up and the folk who run it are charming. The local shops (within 50 yards) are superb and we enjoyed getting bread and meat from them for going home! The local pub was an excellent place to dine!'

'We stayed in this beautifully presented, immaculately clean guest house for two nights. Size wise, our room was much as expected from a guest house, it was very well equipped (including a fridge) and had a nice walk in en-suite shower. An extremely generous traditional cooked breakfast was provided in the base dining room (there was a choice of standard fried, with all the trimmings, or scrambled or poached eggs plus additional items such as kippers if ordered in advance). 'Requested parking and Luckily managed to secure a parking space outside the guest house and Phil gave me a parking permit for our full stay. The room was big, clean and comfortable with sofa to relax on, ensuit with shower and lovely soft towels. Teas, coffee and hot chocolate, bisuits and chocolate daily in room. The breakfast was lovely and the full english was huge, cereal, yogurt and fruit availble. We had a lovely stay and would return when in Whitby '

'The hosts, Janet and Steve were very welcoming and their home was beautiful. They had plenty of information about the area and we’re always on hand to chat with. We loved staying at the Thorpe Green House vegetarian b&b and recommend it wholeheartedly. '

'Bed wasn't very comfortable. Tv only had very basic stations could do with a upgrade or at least be able to connect phone to it. Shower wouldn't go above luke warm. Overall though was decent.'

'Wildgoose Cottage was a fabulous, away from it all break. The only noise we heard was nature, cows, pheasant and lots of birds. We were lucky to see a deer with a fawn and boxing hares. This is a very relaxing place to stay but a good 45 minutes walk to the centre of Whitby either along the road or the Cleveland Way.'
