Ryokans in Kyoto

'Four of us stayed for one night only at Gion Ryokan Karaku ( half board) The Kaiseki dinner was amazing! Beautiful presentation of food and staff were very attentive. The location of Gion Ryokan Karaku is very central. Just a couple of minutes away from Yatasa Shrine and an easy 15 minutes walk to Kiyomizu Dera temple. We would recommend this Ryokan to anyone who enjoys good food and service '

'Gorgeous traditional Ryoken. Problem at check-in almost ruined it but we worked it out. You check in and receive a cotton kimono, toe socks and slippers. Everyone floats around like it’s ancient Japan. The rooms are lovely and spacious for Japan. The onsen is like an excellent spa! In de gedeelde keuken kun je alles gebruiken. De Ryokan is typisch Japans en een leuke belevenis. Prima service. Prachtige tuin. Restaurant in het hoofdgebouw. Bushalte en supermarkt op loopafstand. Met de bus 20 minuten naar Kyoto Station.'

'This is a traditional ryokan, and my second stay. First time was back in 2016 by myself. This time came here to stay with my wife. Bery friendly staff. I had a much better experience first time around, two ladies came and showed me how to change into a yukata and prepared my bed. Everything was more personal, this time they were a little busy. Too many guests. Still amazing experience. You can reserve the onsen for yourself privately. The dinner experience is a little expensive but worth it. '

Elke ochtend een verrassing en een feest voor je smaakpapillen en t oog. Geserveerd in een prive ontbijtruimte. Het personeel en de eigenaars zijn heel attent en vriendelijk. '아라시야마 바로 앞 감성을 느낄 수 있습니다. 외출 한 사이에 침구류를 깔아줘서 좋았지만 침구류에 먼지가 너무 많아서 힘들었습니다. 방에서 예쁜 마당이 보이고 둘이 쓰기에 방이 너무 넓어서 좋았습니다. 아라시야마 특성상 6시 지나면 가게들이 다 문을 닫아서 갈 곳이 없는 점은 아쉬웠습니다. '
