'The host checked before my arrival what time I'd be booking in. Unfortunately I was early so they were out but Alison was very accomodating when I said I'd be back around 10pm. Place was lovely and room was very comfortable with an array of items on the room to make my stay more comfortable. Overall would highly recommend but would also advise to close your windows before bed as the crows and peacocks woke me up at 5am!'

'Wij verbleven niet in het grote hoofdgebouw, waar twee restaurants zijn en het ontbijt wordt geserveerd. Wij hadden een heel ruime kamer in de Lodge. Prachtig bijgebouw op 10 minuten wandelen. Grote ruime kamer met uitzicht op prachtige tuin en alleen vogels te horen. Op Ickworth kun je gratis fietsen lenen of zwemmen. En natuurlijk wandelen en het park van de Nationl Trust bezoeken, evenals het grote gebouw waar de baron van Bristol ooit woonde. En mooie oude dorpen en steden in de omgeving...

'The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.'
