'Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!'

'The staff were all super friendly. Very clean resort and rooms. Very generous with the food, you can order as much as you want for the kaiseki dinner. Breakfast was also very generous with the portions. Very close proximity to all the attractions, all within walking distances. A lot of free snacks and amenities in the public areas. There are private and pubkic onsens which are easily accessible and very comfortable. Great stay'

'The room was within walking distance from the bamboo forest and local restaurants. It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms. The staff were really nice and very helpful and patient.'

'This hotel is truly like stepping into another world. The service is impeccable, the room we had was gorgeous and superbly clean. We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai. All of the staff are very friendly and professional and the food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a touch of classic Japan in Kyoto!'

'Als familie van 4 personen, 2 volwassenen en 2 tieners, hebben wij een prima verblijf gehad. Wij verbleven in een 4 persoonskamer met gedeelde badkamer en toilet. In de gedeelde keuken kun je alles gebruiken. De Ryokan is typisch Japans en een leuke belevenis. Prima service. Prachtige tuin. Restaurant in het hoofdgebouw. Bushalte en supermarkt op loopafstand. Met de bus 20 minuten naar Kyoto Station.'
