'Lovely hotel in an excellent spot. The historic background is evident, yet at the same time there is a lot going on so it is vibrant and busy and the rooms are to a very good standard. Very comfortable night’s sleep, with no disturbance from patrons at the bar (and the quiz night, which happened during my stay). I was unable to connect to internet (despite help from staff). 'We couldn’t fault the hotel, the room was lovely , service staff for the rooms , were very polite and did a fantastic job, Breakfast was great, everything was there you needed, plenty of food and tea and coffee, waiting staff were fantastic We had a lovely evening meal as well, very nice and pleasant evening . Reception staff were lovely and polite and cheerful. Car was safe in hotel car park , We very much enjoyed our stay , we will be back . Thank you '

'Mooi authentiek hotel. Van buiten prachtig om te zien. Van binnen iets gedateerd maar wel goed. Personeel vriendelijk. Niet goed te doen als je wat slechter te been bent door de vele trapjes en opstapjes. Het licht op loopafstand van het centrum en toch in een heel rustige omgeving. De route is echter wel via een lange steile weg. We hadden een “standaard kamer” en vonden die wel aan de kleine kant. Hotel is niet toegestaan voor kinderen. '

'Buitenzijde is prachtig, maar binnen is sterk aan renovatie toe, wij kregen een kleine kamer aan de achterzijde. Het zou prettig zijn om bij het boeken ook een foto van de kamer te hebben die je daadwerkelijk krijgt. De plaatjes waren prachtig, maar resultaat valt in praktijk tegen daardoor'

'Really lovely little hotel (12 rooms?). Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Location very convenient for Torquay but far enough away from the noise. Beautiful 19th century property. Hosts very friendly, everyone greeted at breakfast by their names - how do they remember everyone's name??! Lovely breakfast all made to order - good variety. Would definitely stay again if in Torquay. We booked through expedia but worth looking at booking direct.'
