« The hotel with the rooms was very outdated. Horrible smell everywhere. Staff were nice and helpful though. We could only park behind the dirty building, car park full of rubbish. The walls were paper-thin, so we heard every conversation (it was rather a screaming between family members) and door slam in the hallway. Ruined our entire weekend. The room was filthy, with dust thick on the Cupboards, shelves, no hoovering was done, I had dirty towels. TV couldn’t be used. The price was very low...

« We absolutely loved staying at The Barbican Hotel. It’s in a great location, near the beach and town. We were greeted so kindly and looked after so well. Our room was fresh and bright, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was wonderful! Well cooked and presented! I can honestly say, we couldn’t have chosen a better guest house! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and welcoming! »

« Large apartment right next to the beach. Clean, spacious and everything we needed. Space for the children, room for a small dog. The kitchen had a fridge (no freezer) and there was tea, coffee etc left for us. Really lovely aparthotel and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. »

Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. « My room was very clean and it was easy to obtain supplies if needed. The housekeeping team was friendly and the quality of their work was excellent. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice although I would have preferred the option of fried or poached eggs and some hash browns. All the staff were helpful and friendly. »

« I would definitely recommend this hotel. My wife and I stayed in an apartment, which had a large kitchen with all the amenities you would need. It had a hob, an oven, microwave and fridge, plus a toaster and even a caffatiere. The bedroom, living area and bathroom were a good size and really comfortablex the bar in the hotel had a great decking area with a great view over the river and down towards Teignmouth. « Séjour agréable, nous avions une grande chambre avec une très grande hauteur sous plafond. On sent que l'hôtel mériterait une bonne rénovation mais c'est fonctionnel. Le plus appréciable était la piscine couverte que nous n'attendions pas (la piscine fermée est la piscine extérieure). Bon petit déjeuner à un tarif honnête (10£/pers) avec du choix (continental+english). Emplacement parfait pour découvrir le front de mer de Torquay. »
