It's a nice property with spacious rooms and modern facilities. Location by beach and close to airport is a plus. However, the experience is let down by some staff who just don't seem to bothered about their jobs, unfortunately. House keeping was poor with dusty rooms and towels not changed and even basic things like toilet paper not replenished. The bar area and main buffet areas are too small given the type of property this is. Finally, some F&B prices are astronomical. To put into context, a large draft beer is over GBP 11. That's more than you would pay at the Dorchester Hotel in Central London. This has the potential to be a great property but sadly let down by the above. More a 3 star standard at this point in time. There are plenty of better properties in Mauritius.

Very nice hotell, BUT some things could be better
Very beautiful. Nice rooms with excellent beds. BUT. The staff has a work culture issue, often they dont look at you when they talk to you and they seldom smile, you are often left wondering if they dislike you when they leave after taking an order or similar. Some of them mumble very low so you cant hear. There are exceptions, the more senior staff are better in general. The small indian restaurant had the best staff. The second issue is the prices of food and wine. They are quite exaggerated, especially wine. A cheap 7 or 8 euro bottle of wine cost about 90-100 euro. Quite the markup... The dishes are pretty good but better food normally cost less at better restaurants. Still, excellent hotell but with a staff culture improvement it could be soo much better and the cost would be nothing.

The area was hit with CyClone, the area was devasted with property damage and flooding and they refused to grant a refund. The Airport was closed until further notice and they still would not provide refund. I am also disappointed that Hotels.com did not provide a client credit on my account knowing the reason was due to natural diseaster.

Chegamos no hotel Anantara no dia 7 de janeiro de 2024, nossa estadia anterior foi o Maradiva Villas Resort Spa, esperávamos viver no Anantara momentos tão especiais quanto na estadia anterior, mas as situações embaraçosas começaram ainda no checkin. Guardaram nossas malas e pediram para que aguardássemos em outra sala ao lado da recepção, então ficamos lá, chegaram outros hóspedes e estes foram servidos com toalhas refrescantes e um drink de boas vindas, notamos que tinha algo estranho, apesar de termos dificuldade para falar em inglês, entendemos o que havia sido dito, ninguém foi nos servir ou agilizar nosso checkin, somente depois, quando percebemos que algo estava errado e reclamamos apareceu alguém para nos ajudar, mas antes disso, a recepcionista nos afrontou dizendo que tínhamos falado que já estávamos sendo atendidos, colocação esta que não faz o menor sentido. Enfim conseguimos fazer o checkin e ir para o quarto, chegamos rapidamente, já estávamos com trajes de praia e fomos conhecer o hotel e aproveitar o dia, acabamos não prestando muita atenção no quarto, estranhamos no dia seguinte as roupas que usamos no jantar e ficaram fora da mala estavam muito úmidas, sabemos que normalmente há mais umidade em locais de praia, mas era algo além. Somente no segundo dia notamos que o problema não era a umidade normal e sim que havia mofo no teto do quarto e que o piso não ficava seco, além do mais, nunca parecia limpo, em um dos dias esqueceram de limpar nosso quarto, ent

My husband and I stayed at Anantara for a week earlier this month. The hotel is amazing and has a lot of facilities. There are a lot of activities in the hotel free of charge- e.g. archery, snorkeling, etc. The beach is great with crystal clear water and enough sunbeds for all the tourists. Everything is clean and very well maintained. The staff in Anantara is super friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Zahra for making our anniversary so memorable and to the two guys at the snorkeling (Fernando and Ariano) explaining all the things we see at the trip. It was definitely a memorable trip for us and one of the best hotels we ever stayed. Thank you!

I’m really surprised how this hotel qualifies as a 5 star. Everything about it was completely off. The food was pathetic, especially their Indian restaurant. The staff is not at all well trained. They do not value people’s time. Cleanliness is horrible, we returned with painful bed bug bites. The only people who were helpful and sweet were Nishta, Hema and Oceane.

Beautiful property with great amenities. The spa is fabulous. The service was excellent and except for dining staff at breakfast. They would asked you if want coffee and never return, had to keep asking for my coffee over and over. Overall excellent hotel. Needs another pool though.

The room, the ocean view and the beach are really great. The entire complex is new and very well maintained. However, there is room for improvement in the food (especially at dinner). At breakfast, there was a varied selection of international dishes. Dinner was always very similar due to the choice of starters. The main courses tasted ok, but not really special. What I found a bit unpleasant were the partly over-friendly and thus rather pushy staff. During dinner, we were sometimes asked while chewing our food whether the next course could be brought and whether the food was tasty. In addition, the plate should only be cleared after the guest agrees and has finished eating - and not while half of the butter is on the knife and the bread in the hand. Nevertheless, I can recommend the hotel for a short stay before leaving Mauritius, as it is also very close to the airport.

L'hôtel est récent, les chambres sont belles et très fonctionnelles, jolie baignoire et double vasque, lit confortable ; le gros problème pour nous était à la piscine : les clients se précipitent le matin pour déposer une serviette, une tong, un livre ou tout autre objet pour "réserver" leur transat, puis quitte la piscine, vont dans leur chambre, vont déjeuner... Du coup, si vous agissez de manière civilisée et bien élevée, vous n'aurez pas de transat à la piscine ; le personnel laisse faire, ce qui est très dommageable. La chambre était faite à la va-vite (il y a des boissons mais pas de verre, et d'autres petits oublis).

Don't make our mistake and book this property. Full of cabin crew who treat it like a backpackers hostel. Rooms run down, with stains/ripped bedding every single day. TV didn't work for 3-4 days. Phone in room didn't work and wasn't repaired even though we were promised 6 times. Furniture chipped, sticky and stained. Food was awful and half board/all inclusive was a massive waste of money. SeaFireSalt was incredibly small portions, however, generally nice food - although the menu doesn't change, and on HB/AI, you get a choice of 2-3 options... after a few days, you're bored of the same bland food! Horizon had ants crawling over tables and the croissants in the morning, whilst the dinners were rushed, with bad quality bland food. Nowhere enjoyable to go for evening drinks as the outdoor bar was always full of cabin crew, with no room for us actual guests. Pool area was nice to look at, but dirty - cigarette butts everywhere, dirty sunbeds & bird poo. Not relaxing as the cabin crew all bring down loud personal speakers, so you'll end up listening to 3 different music at the same time - not ideal for reading a book! Staff were generally ok, but when complaining about room issues, no one cared and appeared to find it amusing. The most unprofessional & ridiculous hotel I have ever been to, in addition to being the biggest waste of money I've spent. Anantara didn't bother responding - but they need to decide if they want to be a luxury hotel or a backpackershostel for cabincrew

Beautiful hotel with great landscape. Staff are friendly and professional, they do their best to make u feel comfortable. Food is good in all their restaurant. We had a tour by speed boat to different location including ile au cerf through the hotel with staff name Kamal, we enjoyed it so much just make sure to apply sunscreen as u will get sun burn. Location of the hotel is great on the beach but you definitely need a car to go all over the area as there is nothing near by u can do

Établissement corrects mais quelques points sont à revoir tel que le service de laverie ( vêtement blanc rendu jaunie ) cependant il ne m’ont pas fait payer la prestation , les abords de la plage / les chiens errant qui dorme sur votre terrasse ou s’amuse partout la nuit dans le complexe hôtelier . Je tiens tout particulièrement à félicité le professionnalisme du staf qui a pu rendre mon séjour agréable et tout particulièrement à Kavish qui a su organiser et répondre à tout mes attentes durant mes deux semaine à l’anantara et aussi je remercie YOGESH un grand merci car il a des doigt de fée si vous devez passez par le spa n’hésitez surtout pas à le solliciter.

Enjoyed my stay
Great place. Sometimes difficult to get pool towels. But that was a minor inconvenience. Would prefer menu ordering as opposed to a Buffet; so would recommend eating in the bar if you are the same.

Accommodation is fine , buffet is pretty good, just was a little disappointed as phone didn’t work so impossible to reach reception, towels and wines were missing, they fixed it but I had to call from mobile phone. People are very nice and are here to satisfy your need , I appreciated it. SPA is not open entirely and it is not normal that it wasn’t specified before booking…

Newly built property. Suffered soon after opening due to pandemic. Have good staff who cares and looks after guests like Merwyn, Magen. Treasure them. All services are not fully functional like Jacuzzi, Hammam
