Een prachtig plekje tegen de bergen aan. Volop mogelijkheden om er op uit te gaan. Leuke plaatsjes in de omgeving. Heerlijk wandelen in o. a. Terra d’arga en voor de fanatiekeling zijn er berghellingen waar de fietser de kuiten op stuk kan bijten. (Er zijn 2 ATB’s beschikbaar) Er zijn meerdere leuke restaurants in de buurt en de prijzen zijn laag. Het huisje zelf biedt volop gelegenheid om weer even op adem te komen of om je een periode geheel af te sluiten van alles

Een prachtig gelegen huis is een prachtige omgeving
Dit is echt een heel geschikt verblijf. Mooi huis, voorzien van alle benodigdheden en inderdaad zoals regelmatig gemeld een heel mooi uitzicht. De rust is overweldigend. Het zwembad is niet zo groot maar heel geschikt voor het doel om lekker af te koelen na een lange wandeling. En mooie wandelingen zijn er genoeg te maken. We hebben een heerlijk tijd gehad en de eigenares is erg aardig en bereid om te helpen waar nodig. Aanrader dus.

Lieu idéal pour le repos et la découverte de cette tres belle région du Minho : collines à perte de vue, nature préservée, petites villes de caractère et océan à proximité. Gîte confortable et parfaitement entretenu, blotti au coeur des arbres, à quelques pas d'un parc naturel. Grande qualité de l'accueil d'Ellen, amoureuse des langues, soucieuse du bien-être de ses vacanciers et généreuse en conseils pour assurer le meilleur séjour. Une très belle destination !

Me and my husband and our two dogs stayed for 12 days at the Treehouse. We had such a fantastic and relaxing stay enjoying the house and beautiful surroundings. Great host who seemed to thought about everything you possible could need and provided for this. We highly recommend Treehouse!

Adorámos tudo. Desde a Ellen, ao Rafa, a tudo ao seu redor e principalmente o chalé. Foi tudo espetacular desde o início. A Ellen é a melhor hostess que já conhecemos com uma história de vida fascinante. O cão Rafa não há palavras para o descrever. Passava os dias connosco sempre a abanar a cauda. A propriedade é lindíssima e indescritível. Um sítio para todos conhecerem. E definitivamente para nós voltarmos!

Overall Treetops is a lovely place to stay. Recommend not visiting out of season as local restaurants weren't open and travelling to other towns along narrow roads ar night is not ideal. The owner, Ellen, was very good providing details of places to visit in the area. Great location is you want to some walking as close to Serre D'Arga National Park. The location is very quiet and a nice place to escape the rat race.

Words cannot convey the beauty of Treetops!
A superior accommodation and location high above the beautiful village of Covas. Super comfortable bed and living areas, indoor and out, including barbecue. Fully equipped kitchen with staples provided. Hostess Ellen is like an old family friend immediately, yet never intruded on our stay. She provided excellent tour advice and directions to “secret” spots in the area. Welcoming community and restaurants, lots to see and do. Return each day to Treetops was like arriving in our own private sanctuary complete with a canary aviary! Seemed like the most pleasant spot on earth while we were there!

Amazing!
Our first visit to Portugal and it couldn't have been better. A warm welcome from Ellen, Rafa, Nina and Pumpkin! The location is absolutely stunning, everywhere we went was so picturesque. Lots of great recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants. It was so peaceful and the garden was totally private. I slept like a log the whole time, thoroughly recharged my batteries! Wonderful stay at Tree Tops
We were delighted to stay at Tree Tops having had to cancel last year. It was everything and more that we'd hoped for. The accommodation has a lot of character and is clean and well equipped. It is in a beautiful location surrounded by trees on the border of the Serra D'Arga national park. Their are stunning views and lovely walks plus lots of historic towns to visit nearby. Also with easy access to the coast. The owner Ellen is lovely and couldn't be more helpful

A fantastic find
The photos do not do this place justice - it is a fabulous cottage with wonderful views across the valley through the trees. We were welcomed with wine from the local region and every morning and evening we were greeted by Ellen's super friendly dog, Rafa. It is a great location for exploring the beautiful Minho area.

Super. Du cadre à la personne d'Ellen, tout était agréable et fait pour se détendre. Attentionnée, Ellen embellit votre séjour. Barbecue privatif. Parking très spacieux dans la propriété. Wohnen mit Lodgefeeling
Schon im Vorfeld war Ellen sofort im Kontakt und sehr bemüht, die Unterkunft auch ja zu finden. Nicht so riesig schwer, ausser wenn man davor steht, weiss man es nicht gleich. Aber wir fanden sie auf Anhieb. Der erste Blick war schon überwältigend. Wein im Kühlschrank und auf dem Tisch mit einer netten Karte war eine total liebe Geste. Die Fahrt zum wandern und einkaufen muss man einrechnen und wurde kombiniert. Aber es war den Aufenthalt mehr als wert. Der Aufenthalt war so schön! Die Terrasse nutzen war für uns leider zu kalt, aber ihr Anblick alleine war schön. Dito der überragende Blick aus den tollen Panoramafenster. Alles war hochwertig eingerichtet. Ellen spricht 11 Sprachen und eine offene, freundliche und unaufdringliche Frau. Nette und interessante Person. Wir waren absolut gerne hier und würden wieder kommen, kämen wir in die Ecke der Welt noch mal.

Hemos estado súper a gusto. Ellen es un amor, nos ha tratado muy bien y nos ha recomendado sitios muy bonitos para visitar. La estancia ha sido muy agradable y nos lo hemos pasado espectacular. Además, su perro Rafa nos ha hecho numerosas visitas al apartamento, es muy simpático también. En conclusión, una experiencia para repetir!

I never thought this place would blow my mind, because no picture will ever do it justice. The hard, long work and tons of love put out by Ellen (the owner) in this property, really shows. It’s absolutely mind blowing. It is the soul definition of heaven on earth. I’m still processing everything: the place itself, the outdoors, the smells, the sounds, the warmest of welcomes… I’ve travelled extensively, and I’ve never stayed at a place like this. What a bliss! I experienced true happiness. The cottage has everything you will ever need and some. The bed is comfy and the shower is wonderful. You have your own private outdoor space, on the terrace or at the garden. The pool is ever so inviting with the most amazing views. The property is huge, totally secluded and private. The only sounds are the ones of Nature. The house has all the commodities and great Wi-Fi. For a lazy evening you have a large Tv with all the channels. The kitchen has everything you may need to cook your meals. All the details have been observed by Ellen. Yes, Ellen… an American who fell in love with the region in the 80’s and never looked back. A being of light, with such good and soothing energy. A warrior who manage to create with her own hands, this beautiful breathtaking haven. She’s the perfect host! Will great you with all her pets, wine, honey from her bees, fruit from her trees, eggs from her chickens, and a honest and lovely smile. She will tell you all you need to know, and all you must see, so you’re in good hands. She’s a true “Minhota” at heart. I could go on forever, as I feel that nothing I may write, will ever do any sort of justice to this place, to Ellen, or what I’ve experienced. Also, let’s not forget her sweet dog Rafa, who always payed us a visit in the morning and in the evening. What a sweet, sweet puppy. Everything and everyone are so special. And I’m ever so grateful.

Oasis in the treetops
Ellen has truly made a remarkable getaway in Portugal. Her treetop home is amazing. The entire property is like paradise with flowing fountains, flowers, fruit trees, and so much more! Ellen was a most attentive and gracious host. Knowing we were arriving later in the evening she had stocked the kitchen with juice, milk, fresh eggs from her chickens, fresh honey from her bees, plums, butter, bread and two bottles of wine to make sure we would have food for breakfast in the morning. Ellen was very quick to respond to texts ( which was a good thing when we missed a turn and needed directions, which she gave us step by step)! She warmly greeted us along with her pup Raffa. Ellen’s “Green Bible” helped us navigate and her restaurant recommendations were spot on. O’ Dias was our favorite! The best steak we have ever had and so cheap! The pool was a welcome relief from the heat. By the pool Ellen shared her story of how she ended up in Portugal, which is truly amazing. She is an incredible lady. Our stay from start to finish was wonderful and we would definitely stay again.

Espectacular
La ubicación y la casa son inmejorables. Zona super tranquila, entorno idílico. Muy recomendable para conocer la sierra norte de Portugal: Ponte da Lima, Vilanova de Cerveira, Viana do Castelo, Caminha... La casa tiene todas las comodidades para pasar unos días. Ellen nos recibió con dos botellas de vino, media docena de huevos caseros y un bote de miel casero también, espectacular. Viajamos con nuestro perro y él también ha disfrutado mucho del jardín. Eso sí, si viajas con un perro 'escapista' o no apto con gatos, hay que tener cuidado, pues la finca es común con los dueños y tienen mas mascotas (Sus perros son adorables y super sociables). Recomendamos gratamente TreeTop y volveremos si tenemos la oportunidad.

Uriges Steinhaus in den Bergen
Schöne Lage mit Aussicht ins Tal in sehr ruhiger Umgebung. Terrasse mit Südausrichtung, Korkeichen spenden Schatten, so daß man immer die Wahl zwischen Sonne und Schatten hat. Das Haus liegt nicht direkt an der wenig befahrenen Strasse, Autostellplatz auf dem Grundstück oberhalb des Hauses. Stufen führen über terrassiertes Gelände hinunter zum Haus. Das Haus hat dicke alte Natursteinwände und Holzbalken und verströmt so eine urgemütliche Atmosphäre. Angenehm die Insektenrollos im Schlafzimmer. Der Zugang ins Haus erfolgt über eine große verglaste Schiebetür des Wohnzimmers. Zum Tal hin lassen sich große Schiebe-Fenster ebenfalls weit öffnen. An Ausstattung haben wir nichts vermißt. Die überaus gastfreundliche Vermieterin wohnt im Nachbarhaus und hat so manchen Tipp parat. Zum gesamten Anwesen gehören auch ein sehr lieber Hund (Rüde) und zwei Katzen. Im Haus wartet eine sehr gut gestaltete Mappe mit Ausflustipps und Kartenskizzen, die uns eine wertvolle Hilfe war. Wandermöglichkeiten direkt am Haus. Über kurvenreiche, wenig befahrene lassen sich viele Ziele wie z.B. die Atlantikküste in 20-40 min erreichen.

We would definitely recommend Treetops for any couples looking to get away from it all and enjoy amazing scenery, friendly people and fantastic food and wine. The cottage is beautiful and a great deal of thought has been put into making it comfortable for guests. It is very well equipped for a self catering holiday. The owner is friendly and helpful but also respects your privacy. The fresh bantam eggs, homemade honey, strawberries and local wine were greatly appreciated. The insider tips the owner has written in the 'green bible' are fantastic. It saved us a great deal of time searching for places to eat etc. We ate in 3 of the places recommended in the 'green bible' and every meal was fantastic. The owner's pets are just like herself . . . amazingly friendly but also discrete.
