Blokhutten in Kings Canyon National Park

'De cottage is oud en vies en wordt voor veel te veel geld te huur aangeboden. Toe aan een grondige renovatie. Geen mogelijkheid om fatsoenlijk buiten te zitten (oud en kapot meubilair en afgebroken veranda), nauwelijks ingerichte keuken en het huis is niet goed schoongemaakt. Veel lawaai van de doorgaande weg, waar de cottag direct aan ligt. Veel bouwmaterialen slingeren over het terrein. Grote afrader, er zijn veel mooiere motels, hotels en Cabins in de buurt te huur.'

'Truly remote cabin—full kitchen and bath. Very cute and cozy but with modern amenities. Large deck and grill and two functioning fireplaces. Free parking and a delicious very local restaurant-bar across the street. The place is movie scene perfect for a hallmark Christmas. The down sides being if you are tall the bathtub will require you to bend down if taller than 5’10”. While I fully expect rustic there were a lot of easy to dust cobwebs. 'I took a trip to see the giant forest and this was the perfect spot to stay if you are looking to see the big trees…🌲🌲🌲 I don’t suggest making this drive at night or in the dark.'

'We had a good stay, the view is by far the best feature, loved waking up and having breakfast in the porch looking at the mountains around us. Cabin is comfortable, bed might be a bit too noisy for a light sleeper, but reason for not giving 5 stars is that we found several pans/pots very dirty. I do appreciate they gave us a brand new sponge (not everyone does that). Host was responsive and accommodating even with a very late check-in time!'

'After hiking in Yosemite and Sequoia for six days, we were very excited to soak in the hot tub on this property. Unfortunately, it was dirty with a wide band of scum along the upper edge of the water. Needless to say we did not use it. That was very disappointing as the inside of the home was pristine and very comfortable.'

'Nice place to sit on the porch and watch the birds and wildlife. Cabin is very cold as far as touches, cookware very old, few utensils, nothing else. Bed is good. Outside is great.'

'Great stay. The pictures and description do not do this hidden gem justice. Nice cabin with extra land to walk around. Bar and grill on premises with EXCELLENT food. Hope to return some day!'

We loved the location in the park with lots of great hiking and running trails right on our doorstep. The cabin was cosy and had everything we needed and more. 'Nice, comfortable cabin - we stayed there with 5 adults and two kids. The location is convenient and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed. Only issue we encountered was that the two bigger burners on the stove didn’t work - we were able to work around it but the heating the water for morning coffee/tea took a long time, lol! '

'It was a lovely cabin maybe a bit small but most are. Its proximity to the main road was a bit challenging. Also we weren’t informed notice of the location up the hill until a few days before our trip date and by then it was too late to cancel. Furthermore if you choose this property be prepared for a winding road up the hill. Overall a pleasant experience at the property itself with spectacular views.'
