'Fantastic stay . The hosts couldn’t do enough for us , very obliging , helpful , informative, friendly . Hotel is in a prime location with added convenience of parking . Breakfast was amazing , and the pastries to take away is such a nice touch / gesture . We will be returning back next year . '

'The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes'

'Clean and comfortable , good size room in a convenient area for trains and buses. Not far to walk to old village or seafront. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Paul was friendly and helpful, recommending places to eat in the evening . '

'We loved our stay. We were in the Fat Badger room in the garden. It is a tranquil oasis. The owners are so kind and can’t do enough to help. Breakfast is delicious with lots of local produce. One of the nicest places I have stayed in a very long while. '

'We had the family room which is a self contained place with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen-dining area, there was lots of room and privacy. It was clean and tidy. It’s right on the Coastal Path so it was perfect for us on a walking holiday.'

'The property was pretty central, walking distance to eateries and shops, good parking. Stuart was very welcoming and helpful, breakfast was your choice, plentiful, freshly cooked and my room was spotless, cosy bed and hot shower. I liked it a lot.'

'Overall ticks all the boxes . In some need of updating , decor , furniture . Mattress too soft for me , a topper or new one would be ideal. Parking was fine. An altercation with the owner and a guest at 1.30 am on my second night didn’t help my sleep . Whilst my room was next door to the entrance , and in all probability not the fault of the owner , regardless , there are other guests in the accommodation to consider. Overall decent for the price . '
