The hotel is very well located in Cairo and has a beautiful view of the Nile. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The breakfast is varied and they also had typical Egyptian specialties. The 3 restaurants are super tasty and we recommend the Grill enough! The room service was also on point. The only downside were the noisy events on Friday and Saturday until late at night. We definitely recommend this hotel!

Het verblijf was fantastisch... alleen de klimaat beheersing binnen in het hotel was dramatisch... waar het buiten tegen de 40 graden is, stond de airco gevoelsmatig op 10 geaden in de lobby. Mijn hele reisgezelschap is zwaar verkouden geworden.

Service-gericht hotel met uitstekende faciliteiten
Ik had een uitstekend verblijf bij Sofitel Nile El Gezirah. Vooral de service en vriendelijkheid van het personeel viel op. Zo kreeg ik een gratis kamer upgrade bij check-in en was op verzoek ook het laat uitchecken om 4 uur mogelijk zonder extra kosten. Het hotel heeft enkele uitstekende restaurants en een prachtig zwembad met panorama uitzicht over de Nijl. Ontbijt buiten met uitzicht over de rivier was ook perfect.

Best hotel ever!
My stay at this hotel couldn't be better. Best service and best facilities. De helper at my floor (Kamal) made sure that everything would be no more than excellent during my stay. I did not want to come home anymore. I've been pampered like never before and can recommend this hotel to any spoiled traveler. The view over the Nile was unbeatable especially from any of the restaurants and from the swimming pool.The Porter (Belal) is such a good ambassador for this hotel. I just cannot find words to express my feelings, it was beyond imagination! I was not planning to visit Egypt again, sometime soon, but now I definitely will because I just want to stay at this hotel again. Do not forget to visit Kababgy (one of the 5 restaurants the hotel has). Excellent view over the Nile and food so delicious and affordable. I had ordered watermelon and it was such a big platter, I could not finish, so the waiter (Abdullah) suggested he made juice out of it, it was so sweet and tasty. I felt so good because my money was not wasted.

Small room, nice view
Very small room, but Nile views make up for that a bit. More attention to cleaning the bathroom and grouting is required Great spa and pool. Great restaurants. Nile side beggars make dining there less pleasant, our food and party were covered in water from their boat oars when we did not give money. Nile water and food is not a good mix.

When critiquing a property I always put context first. Cairo is a large, bustling, in-your-face city. An assault on your senses in every way. So of course, keeping in mind that in mind when assessing the hotel. At the same time, when you deem yourself a 5 star hotel and charge prices higher than most hotels in Cairo, that comes with a set of expectations. And those were not met. The service has A LOT to learn. Bags were misplaced, orders and requests needed to be put in 4-5 times before they arrived, half the time the staff was somewhat nice (although incompetent) but there were more than a few occasions where they were flat out rude. Especially waiters. As a group of women at a table, we noticed groups of men getting much better, timelier and more attentive service. Female staffers were better. Male staffers, mostly rude. I would think twice before staying here again. Overall, I feel like the entirety of the staff needs to be retrained.

Hotel is nice but definitely outdated or difficult to navigate. Restaurants are nice and food was good but staff was average at best, at least our server was. You meed reservations for all the restaurants which is nice but can also be difficult. Room service staff was great!

The hotel facilities and views from this hotel are amazing! Still, I wish we would have known that the hotel is close to many night clubs in the area so you could hear the music all night long. If you would like to party this is the best place to be, but we came with a small child and had troubles sleeping.

Ahmed Rafat and Ihab really took care of me. They made sure all my concerns were addressed. They did an amazing job cleaning my room. A special thank you also goes out to Sandra at the Check in. She made sure my experience at the hotel was amazing. She provided me with great customer service and I truly appreciate all her efforts. The location of the hotel was also perfect. It is in the heart of downtown with easy access to different parts of the city. The views in the restaurant are equally as breathtaking.

Nice hotel polite staff but all the charges are ripoff, for 500ml water bottles they charge me 190 egp, they have laundry service but ridiculous prices one shirt 8 dollars one trouser 8 usd unbelievable I wash entire lode of clothes for only 15usd outside laundry nearby pick up and drop off my clothes

Havde valgt hotellet for mine 2 børn og jeg ud fra at det var 5 stjernet og god beliggenhed. Skuffet over den eneste nat vi havde i Cairo. Jeg havde bevidst valgt dette hotel, og på trods af at vi var 3 (de betragter børn på 3 og 5 år også som voksne) så fik vi at vide i receptionen, at vi fik et enkelt værelse. Selvom jeg protesterede, ændrede det sig ikke. Jeg havde bevidst valgt et værelse med Nil udsigt (magnifique værelse) men der var larm fra caféerne og restauranterne nedenunder, da vi skulle sove. Vi var placeret på 3. Sal. Vi havde været i Egypten i noget tid og vores eneste dag i Cairo, hvor vi kun spiste frokost på hotellets restaurant Sud, fik vi dårlig mave. Og senere på aftenen dessert på caféen ved siden af. Derudover var servicen super dårlig på restaurant Sud. Vi havde bestilt pizza og burger til frokost, og der gik 40-45 minutter før vi fik den. Jeg spurgte efter vores frokost flere gange og fik hver gang at vide, at den var på trapperne. Der kom gæster efter os og fik mad før os mens vi stadig ventede. Det var tydeligt, at der blev lavet forskelsbehandling på folk. Jeg rejste med børn på 3 og 5 år og var ikke på forretningsrejse el kommer fra Golfen, og derfor stor forskel på, hvordan vi blev tilset/behandlet i forhold til andre. Så skuffet over opholdet der.

Repeat visit and consistent high standards. Helpful staff. Great breakfast team, including Ahmed and Ramadan. Location on island has better air quality and less hectic, which for me is differentiation from other hotels in Cairo. Reception area is good for getting in/out car service.

It’s a beautiful hotel inside and the outside areas, with an amazing location on the nile - and fantastic facilities. The real only (but major) downside was that there are some nightclubs very close and the room soundproofing is poor, with the level of music I didn’t get a good nights sleep either night (as they pump out loud dance music until 2am). Which is a real shame.
