Great place to stay if you want city center
Center of Cape Town. Great value for money. The quality of everything is just top. People are friendly. Breakfast is diverse and of good quality. The bar is very nice although the opening hours could be extended in my view. Walking around in the city is not really recommended so it is mainly well situated to use Uber and taxis and get to the places of interest.

Vanaf het moment dat we zijn opgehaald van het vliegveld, tot aan het einde van onze vakantie, kregen we uitstekende service. De medewerkers hebben ons verblijf vergemakkelijkt, maar ook velen malen leuker gemaakt. Ze hielpen ons met transport(gratis vanuit het hotel & unicab), verschillende activiteiten en het uitkiezen van restaurants. Ze reserveerden zelfs een plekje in de restaurants. Ook al hebben we twee bergen beklommen, ben ik alsnog een paar kilo aangekomen. De kamer was erg schoon, er werd dan ook dagelijks schoongemaakt. Er was genoeg ruimte in de kamer en we hadden alles wat we nodig hadden. Het beste was toch uit uitzicht op de Tafelberg en lions head. Werkelijk prachtig. Het ontbijtbuffet was goed, erg uitgebreid. Er was ook een a la Carte menu, voor als je iets anders wilde. Een dag vertrokken we voor half 7 en konden we een ontbijtbox regelen! Zo gaan vroege vogels niet op pad zonder eten. De conciërges en portiers waren geweldig, door hun voelden we ons altijd extra welkom. Een speciaal bedankje voor Faaiq en Charme, we hebben zoveel tijd van ze opgeëist, maar wat hebben we er een onvergetelijke vakantie aan overgehouden.

Perfect from start to finish
We had a fantastic short holiday in the Capetown area that started and finished in the Taj. Perfectly located; spacious rooms with fantastic views; a breakfast you don’t want to miss; and for all an outstanding service. If you look for an affordable luxury hotel, the Taj is the one.

The service we received at the TAJ was exemplary. We booked the TAJ based on previous stays at 2 locations in India and are so glad we did. We were immediately greeted on arrival. The staff took charge of our numerous pieces of luggage and our reservation was pulled up while we were offered a special tea and then whisked away to our room. The room was quite large with seating and ample space to open our luggage. The bathroom was modern and huge and gorgeous. Everything worked! We were delighted we book the Executive floor and really enjoyed relaxing during the evening happy hour. The sparkling white wine they served was better than the ones we were served during wine samplings at 3 other locations. The service during the evening was great and helpful with tips for our stay. The breakfast buffet and service were spot on. There were many different types of food so it was easy to find something you wanted. Coffee was great and replenished frequently. After the first day our waitress remembered our preferences. She was a delight and made our stay even better. I would book this hotel again without looking further.

If you’re looking to stay in the centre of Cape Town, at a 5 star hotel with amazing spa technicians, look no further. The staff were so friendly and courteous, the rooms were wonderful and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Green market is a stroll away, the Water Shed and Water Front are just a short Uber Drive away (Willoughby & Co sushi is a must!) We had views of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head - the views were spectacular. Highly recommend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was when we wanted to charge to our room. We didn’t understand that we could only charge if we had sufficient funds prepaid. We were told that anything over that limit wouldn’t automatically be charged to our credit. The amount that was initially deposited wasn’t very much. It should have been explained better. We met another couple who had the same issue.

I have been a Taj Loyalist ever since a kid. This property while beautiful needs to fix the condition of its equipment. The hair dryer, attached to the drawer was very Inconvenient to use and broken as well. Housekeeping couldn’t provide me with a different one. The shower was leaking as well. While the Bombay Brassiere served good food, service was too slow. A solo diner , it took me 2.5 hrs for a meal, did t help that initdered vegetarian and they kept sending non- veg dishes out to my table. The breakfast the next day was worse, not a single server cane to ask me for my beverage order the entire time i was there, forget about asking the special of the day and getting it frsh made from the kitchen. I grabbed a croissant and OJ and it wa sin and out. Not looking for a repeat stay here. Plenty of newer hotels that have way better service.
