Caribische eilanden: Strandvakanties

This Hyatt property was deceiving. Management seems stingy, the room bar was not stocked to meet expectaions of an all inclusive. The rooms show its age and maintenance is spoty with the shower not draining, the shampoo bottle not working, the mirror was stained, and there was paint on he floor. The restaurant ac unit did not work at 2 of 3 restaurants. The staff was friendly but the food selecction is very limited, and booking very un friendly with limited setting, and this was off season. Good luck during high season. Overall, the value for the $$$ is not there. The cost felt deceiving. The only good rating goes to the Palmira bufete. I dont recommend this Hyatt at any price.

Housekeeping was excellent. Staff at beach was very helpful. The wind off the Atlantic kept the beach comfortable and the waves a challenge. Food was great.

Beautiful and upscale property nestled between the beach and the rainforest. Every time we walked in the hotel, it smelled fantastic and it felt like an elevated experience. He staff were all very helpful and kind. Grounds were immaculate! Saw iguanas, turtles and ducks. Kids loved hopping between the different pools and the two waterslides. The beach sand is not white just FYI, and the surf can be a bit dangerous at certain times for kids especially. I did get in it on our last day and it was fine but there are signs to be aware of riptide currents so it’s not the best beach for small children. We truly had a great time! Did want to note there isn’t any main activity area inside for kids/families such as a game room or movie room. It’s mostly all around the pool. My kids also were wanting to do mini golf, but they didn’t have that. Would be a great addition! There can be quite a wait in the morning for breakfast and coffee at Roots To Go (yummy food!) so if you are in a hurry, just get there early as you can. They did run out of things like donuts and pastries. Food quality was excellent! There is a gift shop with a few snacks, but not much to choose from as it’s mostly souvenir and clothing items. The hotel should consider adding a grab and go convenience type store for those trying to get to the rainforest, Old San Juan, etc early or anyone needing a quick lunch or snack with picky kiddos!

I would never stay here again. There were so many repairs to be done in the room that I paid $2000 for, it really wasn’t worth it. The door trapped me inside the room and it took five chances with the handle to get out. Two maintenance men were sent, and they went back and told Management that it was fixed. It was better but never fixed, then it only took two chances with the handle to get out of the room, and also the latch popped out on its own, keeping the door from shutting. The housekeeping manager saw all of this. There was mold and peeling paint in the bathroom on the ceiling and on the grout. The shower handle was installed backwards. I thought I had no hot water. No the handle is installed backwards. The sink plug was completely ripped out and put on the counter Huge chunks of peeling paint on the balcony ceiling. I could not get the room tenants to refill anything coffee shampoo cups. I had to ask at the front desk and I still didn’t get anything. Garbage on the beach in the rocks in the water. They have two people working on the beach, sitting there all day doing absolutely nothing. There is no upkeep. There is no raking. There’s no picking up of garbage. They take the chairs out in the morning and they put them back at night and do nothing in between. Jamaica was cleaner. Day 4 a cockroach came out and they offered to move me, but I only had 36 hours left. It has been 3 days and they won’t return my emails.

It’s a beautiful and very well maintained property. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I loved it’s right off the beach and offers a variety of pool experiences. I will definitely stay again. It’s a bit pricey but I felt it was worth every penny for a four-star hotel.
