Tellement bien... »

« Wonderful and magical place , the staff has been so kind and patient with us. The private onsen is fantastic. My husband and I have stayed there for two nights and enjoyed thé variety of food for our 2 breakfasts and dinners. We strongly recommend ! »

« Worst hotel night ever. The only reason why people should book this hotel is because they have one of the most beautiful onsen in Japan, just on the side of the river. That night, the Typhoon Jebi had just passed over the hotel and when we arrived, there was not power or water anymore. I can’t blame them for that but we had to spend the night in total dark, without bathroom, with nothing to eat and of course no access to the onsen. What I can blame them for is that there was no...

« I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The man running the place was helpful, and kind. He got up at 3am to help the people leaving for a mountain journey, everyday that I was there. He also did some praying around 5:30am, so if you're not ready for that it can be a bit surprising to wake up to lol. But overall it was lovely, and I will think of this place the next time I'm in Azumino. It is far out of town tho, so keep that in mind! »

« If you want a traditional Japanese experience and get away from the main towns, then this hotel is for you. Yes, you can take the Western rooms, but the Japanese rooms will give you a better local vibe. If you take the breakfast and dinner option, then be prepared not to eat anything else. They supply yukata's and belts and you'll feel more comfortable being in traditional garb. It's a slog out and back to Matsumoto, so just make that a one-off day trip. Hirayu is much closer (15-mins) now the...
