  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay here! The communication with host was easy and responses were prompt. Check-in/out was easy. Appreciated the cleanliness and the fact that the unit had everything we needed for our weekend at the beach (beach chairs, cooler, beach towels). We also appreciated that we were within walking distance to a couple of restaurants/bars! Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Diana's rental! It was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and a short walk to the beach access. Diana greeted us warmly when we arrived, and gave us some appreciated tips and info on places I mentioned we'd like to visit while in the area. Very helpful! I loved how she provided bottled water, snacks, a coffee and tea bar, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrella - there were even rain umbrellas abvailable inside. The complex has a large outdoor swimming pool, as well as game area inside which you have access to as well. I had mentioned that my sister and I were celebrating our birthdays with this quick trip to the beach, and Diana certainly made this a lovely getaway for us. I would recommend her place to everyone, and most definitely stay here again if I am in the area!

Relax at the Outer Banks

Lovely efficiency suite with everything you need to enjoy OBX in a fantastic location. The host has thought of all the little things needed to feel at home away from home, and we were greeted and treated with sincere welcome. Sitting on the Lanai (aka garage) and watching a summer storm roll through is an added bonus. The privacy and serenity of the room is unmatched. The AC situation is a little odd (vents and drains into and overheats the garage), but the room is comfortable - leave the garage door cracked and all is well. The room is safe and secure behind a sturdy deadbolt. The bed and linens are soft and comfy. The modern washer/dryer is a game changer for rapidly cycling beach attire. A value leader for vacation destinations in the area.

Absolutely PERFECT!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we walked in and they had the ocean sounds playing on the tv. We were so impressed at the little details at this rental from fresh flowers to snacks and varied soft lighting. It had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable as well as the nice leather couch and comfy rug. They really thought of everything. We used their beach chairs, and small cooler to go to the beach. We love the clubhouse and pool also. I would definitely stay at this property again. You are so close to the ocean. You don’t have an ocean view, but all the little details more than made up for that.

Great place for a short stay!

This garage-turned-suite was the perfect space for a girls’ trip with my sister! The condo complex was very nice and being able to access the pool at the clubhouse was a huge bonus. Plus the beach really was just a short walk away! I was so grateful that Diane provided towels, chairs, and an umbrella for the beach. It made packing so much easier. It is a small space so make sure you’re very comfortable with whoever you’re with, but it’s decorated beautifully and felt very cozy. It was a great time!

Quaint get away

The place was very clean and was a great location. You can walk right to the beach and even to a few good restaurants. The host was very nice and checked on us. It is very intimate seeing as it is all one room but it was perfect for me and my husband.

Delightful Stay/Perfect Location

The location is a short walk from the beach which we loved and beach chairs, towels, & umbrella were provided. It is also close to all our favorite eating spots. We ate 1 meal out/day and had the other 2 meals in. Diane has done a wonderful job of making this compact space cozy and doable for this routine. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Diane is a lovely hostess with great communication from beginning to end of stay.

Great weekend getaway!

We came down for my birthday weekend and to celebrate our engagement! It was just what we needed and so beautifully decorated. The fresh flowers around the apartment were a great touch! The owner was very easy to get in touch with, personable and helped with anything we needed! It’s A very short walk to the beach, and close to restaurants and shopping, we will definitely book again!

Nice place, if you know what to expect

This was an interesting place to stay. It depends on what you are looking for in a vacation housing location. This place is a converted garage unit turned into a one room condo. It was clean and was not as bad as it sounds. This unit was in a complex of multiple buildings and is in the middle of about 6 other places to stay. They did a very nice job converting it so it is pleasant and comfortable. It lacks windows, with the obvious downside of not being able to look out, but the upside of not having any light come in when one is sleeping. The garage and condos are in a nice location, a very easy walk across the complex to a wonderful beach, and around the corner from restaurants and a good coffee shop. It is not "in town" so the busyness and noise of being right in town is minimal. The owner lives above the unit, so she is readily available for questions. We had a hard time finding the place as the street address is for the whole complex. The owner guided us once we were in the complex and was waiting in the parking lot on the phone to wave us in. The complex has a pool, which we did not use. The entry area was set up with a small set of barbells for those who want more exercise than the beach. All in all this was a pleasant place to stay if you know what to expect and particularly if it was not your intent to spend your vacation sitting inside the condo. Not sure kids would like it but it is good if you want to explore the area for the day and eat out at night.

A lot of thoughtful details

The proprietors are most pleasant to work with, and will go out of their way to make your visit pleasing. the bed is comfortable and The linens and towels are of excellent quality. There may be an array of snacks and sweets left for you. So many details have been Given to the room’s decor, such as the lights and the heating and air conditioning on the site. There is as well a more than adequate washer and dryer available behind a door. You are staying in a renovated car garage….but do not be dismayed. It is a lovely place to stay with many thoughtful assets.

Fantastic Stay in Kitty Hawk

I had a wonderful stay at this adorable property in Kitty Hawk. Diane was an amazing hostess. The suite is perfectly suitable for 2 people and is attractively and cleverly arranged to meet all of one's needs. The area is rich in history and beautiful nature.
