Lac Goto

I have stayed here twice this year in two different villas. At first I was worried because they villas don’t have laundry facilities, gear washing stations, or gear storage, but I had already booked both stays before I learned this. Dive Friends has a shop in the parking lot of the resort with storage space, gear wash, and drive through tank exchange. Hold on to your mask, fins, and snorkel because you’re going to want to snorkel off the pier. Using the carts from the dive shop to the pier to haul tanks is not easy but doable. There is a nice gear wash and benches right by the pier so you can jump in for a dive. You just won’t end up doing it very many times because of the distance with the carts. The restaurants are good but very expensive. Food on the island is expensive, as with most islands, but the restaurants here are too much. The Tropicana Beach Bar does have good drinks and I highly recommend the Monday night music by the fire. They offer a two-day laundry service but if you’re only there for a week that’s too long. I take sink washing detergent packets and a bungie clothes line. We found that having a pool at the villa during our second stay was wonderful. We keep the refrigerator stocked and the kitchen is great. Housekeeping is wonderful. Front desk is wonderful. My only complaint is that the beds have tiny thin sheets and the AC is inconsistent, so sometimes it blows very cold and other times not at all, and then you only have a sheet and no blanket

Very friendly staff and guests. Great location! Great snorkeling right across the street!
