Turtle Shell Island

We stayed at the Westin Columbus for two nights, primarily because of its great location near Bicentennial Park. The location was definitely convenient, the staff we interacted with were kind, and we had a comfortable night’s sleep. Unfortunately, several other parts of the stay were disappointing. Arrival was frustrating. Valet had two lanes of traffic blocked, and we had to circle the block three times before ultimately giving up and “self-parking” in the same lot where valet was parking vehicles. That meant carrying all of our luggage down the street and around the corner in nearly 100-degree weather. Valet service overall was very slow. When we returned around midnight another evening, valet appeared to be closed, so we again had to self-park and walk back to the hotel—something I definitely would have liked to know ahead of time, especially since I was wearing high heels. The room was probably the biggest disappointment. I specifically booked the Executive Suite because the online photos showed a dining table, and I had planned a romantic dinner around having that space. The room we received looked nothing like what was pictured and did not have the dining table. After bringing this to the hotel’s attention, we were moved to a room that was supposed to have a table, but it was really just a small cocktail table and still not what was advertised. The mini fridge was also barely cool and ended up spoiling our dinner leftovers. There was no microwave in the room either.
