Excellent Condo

The BVG is a great place to stay in Ixtapa! Very close to the center of activity - many excellent restaurants close by. The palapa at the BVG has great breakfast and lunch options and the staff is top notch! The property is exceptionally maintained on the common areas, pools, etc are spotless! If I could give 10 stars I would. We have been to BVG twice and are planning the next one already!

Nice property but run-down condo

The Bay View property and facilities were great. The two pools were lovely and the bar staff was amazing (great drinks). There is a nice beach areas with palapas that you can reserve. The location was great and walking distance to the centre with plenty of restaurants. The unit had a great balcony to watch the sunset on. However, the condo itself was quite run down and the photos of the property on the listing were very out of date. We had issues getting into the condo and had to sit on the sidewalk with our luggage for 30 minutes while it was sorted with the property manager - the owners were not answering the phone or emails during this time to help with the process. Arriving to the condo, the keypad entry was broken and we were only given one key (for a 3 bedroom property with several guests, you would think we would have more than one key). The property managers did end up getting additional keys cut, however this took a few days. The water was not turned on in the condo when we arrived, there was a toilet seat and shower head broken off in one of the bathrooms, the blinds fell off when we tried to open them in the master bedroom, the safe was not working and the bed sheets in one bedroom were very stained and gross. The property manager (Martin) worked with us to get these issues resolved but it took several days. The pots and pans in the kitchen were very warn and difficult to cook with. The condo did not supply any basic items (toilet paper, garbage bags, dish soap, bar soap, kleenex, etc). Again, the property is great. However this is more of a three star condo in a four star facility.

Outstanding in all respects!

We have stayed in a number of HomeAway or VRBO locations around the world and I have always trusted the honest reviews of those who have stayed there when we make our selection. Let me tell you that if you decide to stay at this location and in this beautiful spacious condo, you will be so very glad you did. First of all, dealing with the owners is "a breeze" - they are so prompt and accommodating with any questions, you will realize right away that these are amazing owners. I can't thank them enough for their kind and gracious manner. Secondly, the unit itself is so perfectly located and well appointed. We were there for a month and had a few guests over the month and it is so wonderful to have 3 bedrooms and separate bathrooms for each bedroom. There are ample towels for inside the unit, as well as towels for the gorgeous pool area. The kitchen has a good supply of items and we had great breakfasts on the large balcony every morning overlooking the pool and the ocean. You can't beat this unit for gorgeous sunsets as well. The beach is absolutely amazing and provides for an interesting an invigorating walk if you go from one end to the other. You can certainly swim in the ocean, but do watch out for the flags indicating the safety level of the waves. There are certainly activities available right outside the complex on the beach including parasailing, banana boats, jet skis, volleyball, and massages. Thirdly, the Bayview Grand Residential is probably one of the most beautiful buildings along the beach in Ixtapa. Security is excellent for the entire gated complex and the service at the front desk and around the pool area throughout the day is exemplary. The grounds are constantly being maintained and groomed as well. The front desk will get you a cab or they are so easily hailed just outside the main gates. As for Ixtapa itself, we have been here three times before and it is certainly a quaint and safe place to walk around during the day and evening. There are so many lovely and casual restaurants within easy walking distance from the Bay View and if you want to do some major shopping, an 80 peso cab ride will get you into Zihuatanejo. A 50 peso cab ride gets you to the Marina. (It's easy to get a cab back as well.) Overall, we can't wait to come back to this beautiful complex, spacious condo, and gorgeous location.

Great location

The Bay View Grand Residence is perfectly relocated in thw center of Ixtapa. We walked to many nearby restaurants every night. The unit itself was very well stocked and was perfect for my family of six. Thank you Jim and Molly. We had a fabulous stay in your home away from home.

Could not ask for anything else!

Amazing, condo and location! If you are planning a vacation, this is the place to spend it. The condo had everything you need, the decor is done with great taste. The management were always available. Location is, without a doubt, the best in Ixtapa. It had been a pleasure to deal with Jim and Molly, and not only they are fast to communicate, but also they had the answers I needed for our stay. It had been a pleasure to deal with them and staying in their condo that so generously shared with us. I would give 10 Stars if I could! Thank you for everything! AMAZING!!! We can't wait to come back! Beautiful condo, and really great people.

I am so happy that we booked this. The condo is perfect for either a family or a few couples. We came with our 4 children from ages 16 up to 20. Arrived in Ziwa and went to the counter to the right and got a large suburban to take us to the condo. The staff was great and met us at the desk to bring us up to the room. We watched the sunset from our patio enjoying a glass of wine. The rooms are all spacious, with their own bathrooms, and all rooms have huge patio doors that over look the pool and the ocean. There is a snack bar open from 9am - 5pm that serves many food options along with drinks. The boys went fishing one day and caught 10 fish, which Frankie at the snack bar set up to have them cook it for us. The location is perfect, right across from the vendors and the small market is walking distance. You can take a taxi to Ziwa for about 80-100 pesos. There are so many restaurants that you can walk to or taxi to Ziwa for dinner. Everything that you need to cook or make drinks is there in the condo. We absolutely loved it, and never once felt unsafe. We told our 16 year old daughters that they could walk around anywhere, just to be back by 6pm to get ready for dinner. A couple of times we walked to dinner and came home around 9:30 or so, but a lot of shops are still open and it is all well lit. We plan on coming back again next year, but for two weeks instead of just 9 days. So happy that we picked this!!!

Great Location - wonderful week spent

We had a great time, will definitely go back. The unit itself has a wonderful view, we slept with the doors open and never even needed the air conditioning on once. The staff at the pool bar especially Ricardo and Jose, were wonderful, providing incredible service. Please remember that tipping is really important to them as their regular wages are very low <3. We made the journey to Zihuatanejo and went to Nardo's for dinner (highly recommended as they have live music 2 days a week! the food was incredible too). We visited many little restaurants across from the BVG, we also bought groceries and cooked for ourselves a few times. We went to El Faro restaurant way up on the hill overlooking the bay, and took a few road trips to Barra De Potosi, and into Zihua to La Ropa and the beach with all the fishermen.. I already have activities planned for next year: Snorkelling, turtle release, and finding more restaurants with live music! We learned of the Guitar Festival a little late, as most tickets were sold out.. Next year if we can time it we will try to get tickets ahead of time :) Thanks Conahan Family for renting to us. We loved it!
