'We have stayed here before and would stay again, it’s a fair price, more than just clean and tidy room (see more below), in a central location for exploring locally or getting in and out by car, and it has parking. This time we stayed in a room with a sea view balcony, which had a lovely view and was clean, tidy and comfortable but with a modern and homey feel. 'Beetje vergane glorie, de foto’s zien er veel beter uit dan in werkelijkheid. Men heeft geprobeerd om nog iets van de jaren 70 stijl te verbloemen. Schilderwerk was allang niet zo mooi als op de foto’s. Wij reisde met onze hond. Deze kan je alleen fatsoenlijk op het strand uitlaten, maar dat mag tussen 18:00 en 10:00. Personeel leek ook continu geïrriteerd. Geen fijne sfeer in het hotel. Het dorp en de stranden zijn trouwens wel fantastisch.'

'Stayed at Retallack for 3 nights and really liked the setting, design and facilities of the room/studio. The location is a little remote, but that's part of the experience :-) The Surfsuite which we booked has a funny layout as you enter through the bedroom - as in the front door opens towards the bed. Actually not bad as it preserves the view from the living room at the back, but on a rainy/snowy day coming in wet/dirty into a bedroom is weird. The toilet wasn't properly cleaned and a...

'Meer dan prima verblijf gehad. Plymouth is een kleine 20 minuten rijden. Saltash ligt om de hoek. Houdt wel rekening met een tractor op de weg. Kamer, zwembad, gym en golf course een echte aanrader. Er is echter niets te vermaak op loop afstand.'

'A great starting point to visit Cornwall because the atlactic and southern coast lines as well as the western part of Dartmore National Park are reachable within an our (of so) by car. Jamaica Inn is sometimes crowded and busy probably because all sorts of people visit it, but the real pub fealing is always present. 'We ended up here by accident after being double booked at another (unrelated) hotel. We were made to feel so welcome and looked after that we quickly forgot about the ordeal from the night before ! The room was gorgeous with stunning views. The hotel and spa were clean, staff were friendly, the food was excellent. We are so glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem and can’t wait to return! '

'We booked a 2 night stay, with our daughter in order to be at a close friend's funeral service and wake. The hotel is ideally located to appreciate the view across the water, and to watch the comings and goings in the bay. The staff were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The public areas and therooms are lovely and clean. Parts of the hotel are ready for being refurbishment (which is about to take place) but it would be a shame if the whole project loses all of the period atmosphere...

"Slechte bedden, veel te klein en door gelegen. In de spa werden geen handdoeken gebruikt in de sauna, de hamman stinkt naar zweet. Veel achterstallig onderhoud en slechte herstellingen aan de tegels, douches…etc uitgeleefd. Kinderen mochten niet in het bubbelbad, kinderen mochten maar beperkt in het zwembad op bepaalde tijden. Werk personeel wandelde met vieze schoenen zonder bescherming door het zwembad. Bij het ontbijt ontbraken broodjes. Een beetje vergane glorie. En de tafel bij het onthaal kwam zeer onverzorgd over, geen welkom drankje na een reis van 6uur weinig uitleg of begeleiding over wat mogelijk was. Zeker Geen aanrader voor mensen met kinderen, te weinig faciliteiten voor kinderen. Niet tevreden ik had dit Veel beter verwacht en vooral de Slechte bedden met het vele tapijt in de cottage is niet aangenaam."
