The Space:

Experience a piece of Denver history in this beautifully restored king room at the newly reimagined La Vista Motel — originally opened in 1956 and thoughtfully brought into the modern era. The space blends mid-century character with today’s comfort, featuring vibrant landscape wallpapers, retro-inspired tilework, and all the amenities you need for a seamless stay.

Relax in the plush king bed under a cozy woven blanket (available for purchase) and stream your favorite music on the Bluetooth speaker. With a dedicated workspace, mini fridge, Roku TV, and fast Wi-Fi, it’s easy to balance relaxation and productivity. Each room features its own personality, so wallpaper and color schemes may vary slightly from what’s shown in the photos.

Step outside your door and explore El Piñon — the on-site coffee shop and cocktail bar led by Weston Scott, founder of Denver’s Ephemeral Rotating Taproom. Sip locally roasted coffee in the morning and unwind with a craft cocktail on the patio at night. From the restored vintage vibe to the modern touchless check-in, every detail at La Vista Motel celebrates Denver’s past while embracing its creative spirit.

The neighborhood:

You’re staying on a stretch of Colfax where the pulse of the city is right at your doorstep — familiar, buzzing, and full of character. This corridor has always been a place where communities meet: homes, businesses, diners, neon signs, murals, and more. Over recent years, it’s seen a revival, and your stay gives you the best of both worlds: immediate access to Denver’s energy, and unique, vintage architecture and spirit that tells stories from decades past.

Step out and you’ll find a mix of coffee shops, bars, independent galleries, quirky storefronts, and local hangouts. At night, the neon signs glow, the bartenders pour craft cocktails, and neighbors spill onto patios. A new bus lane is under construction along Colfax in this up-and-coming neighborhood, making public transit more seamless than ever — soon you’ll hop on and be downtown or to other neighborhoods faster than ever.

Despite the urban vibe, you’re not far from green spaces. Nearby parks and corridors offer breathing room for nature and gentle strolls. Also, being a bit off the main drag gives this spot a bit more calm than what you might expect. When you want to head into the heart of Denver — for a show, a concert, or fine dining — you can easily do so while returning each evening to a space that feels special, distinct, and thoughtfully restored.

From art walks to vintage dives, from walking trails to skyline views, this area will show you the eclectic side of Denver that only locals tend to know.
