'This hotel is really run down. Needs a coat of paint & major overhaul. Nothing looked like the pictures. The location is great & the front desk staff are wonderful. So, at least it has that going for it. Breakfast quality was disappointing. Some random buzzer was being tested the 1st morning & woke our young grandkids up. No warning on the buzzer at all. '

'I can't say enough about the Sugar Boat....check in, personnel, food.. all incredible. The location is perfect..right in the middle of a pedestrian square. Every single interaction we had with the staff couldn't have been more positive. Wonderful experience!'

'Prima hotel'

'There was no restaurant as advertised on website and on hotel notice board. Room very tatty decor. Heater in bathroom and bedroom didn’t work. Window cracked and others filthy. There was also an 18 birthday party below our room with noisy music going on to 1.00am. No way is this a 4 star hotel. Also info given to us about nearby eating places was incorrect. We complained to managress who in fairness was very apologetic and refunded our stay.'

'Jackie is a fabulous hostess, she made sure our stay was unforgettable in a good way. Room was warm, clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable.. great to have the only twin room. Great shower, warm towels on heated rail. Breakfast was perfect. The Cedars Guest House is situated in a great central place, we parked our car and didn’t need to drive until leaving for home. We will definitely book again the next time we’re visiting Dunoon. Thank You '

'We verbleven hier drie nachten om loch Lomond en de omgeving te bezoeken. Prijs kwaliteit was perfect; het hotel is wat verouderd maar de vernieuwde pub en restaurant serveren erg lekker eten. Goed ontbijt al misten we wat kaas ofzo bij onze toast. Het personeel was top!'

'Nice rooms, very nice surroundings. But it’s a pity they turned this lovely house into a very expensive Center Parcs. You smell the pool already when entering the lobby. All the new extensions you do not see on the pictures on the website. . Service often is quite bad & chaotic.'

'I just wanted a simple hotel to come back to after driving all day. No remote for tv, forgot to ask in the morning before leaving for my day trip. Got in late, managed to get Tv on and on a channel, but next night there was a Samsung update message that required the remote. then went for a shower…nearly got severe burns from the tankless water heater as it doesn’t seem to work properly (hot is cold, and apparently cold is hot and extremely dangerously hot. Nowhere to escape to as the shower is...

'Family rooms could do with a bit of refurb and bathrooms defo need updating. Shower head black mould and water sprayed everywhere, so did not use shower and had to have a quick bath. Staff were really nice'
