We were in the penthouse and it was fabulous!

The blue elk inn like everything else in Leavenworth was calm, quiet, and beautiful. Our experience was largely positive, with a few minor things that easily could improve. Lighting in the bathroom was barely noticeable, and made it difficult for both of us to get ready morning and evening. 1 of 2 of the desk staff had a welcoming personality. There were oddly few towels in the room upon arrival, and no robes in the room, we had to ask for both things. When we reserved the saunas, they weren’t turned on until about 15 minutes before we showed up. It takes 30 minutes for anything other than a 2 person infrared to warm up, especially the dry electric sauna, and we showed up five minutes early so we sat in the cold for quite a while. The flooring in the wet sauna isn’t complete so a cold breeze off the concrete will keep your feet cold even half an hour in. All that said, we would almost certainly stay here again if we revisit Leavenworth, for the beauty and uniqueness of the property alone and how nice it was to stay outside of the main tourist area; hoping that the easily solved minor details that make all the difference between a 10/10 experience and a 7.5 experience are improved upon.
