Charming and renovated 1 bedroom/1 bathroom condo on the 3rd level of the historic King James Building.
Located in North Asheville, guests can enjoy neighborhood restaurants, yoga studios, and several shops while also enjoying the convenience of being less than 1 mile from downtown. There is one parking space (unassigned) for this rental located in the parking lot beside and behind the King James Building.
*Please note: There is not an elevator in the building*

Convenient and Clean

Overall it was a nice, small place. I would HIGHLY recommend you bring your own king size sheets - unless you like polyester sheets. And bring your pillow, they were absolutely horrible - like somone stuffed old socks and sweaters into a pillowcase. Also, the windows need repair, they are very heavy and do not stay open on their own. You can prop them open, but watch out for your fingers! The floors are VERY warped, but whatever, it's an old building. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean and the towels were fresh and clean - which was nice. Overall, not bad. I'm so glad I brought my own sheets, that really made a huge difference.

The rental was exactly what was described as, but โ€ฆ the walls are really thin we could hear our neighbors talking all night and day. I have stayed at several VRBO places, this one was bare bones, a few coffee packages(thank you) and sugar/ creamersโ€ฆ information about the area would have been nice, eateries, night life, eventsโ€ฆ. But very clean and kept.

Ok except the stairs were very steep

It was on 3rd floor and there were 42 steps up there. It was ok once we got our luggage up. The location was fine. The price was reasonable, but don't expect luxury.Essentials were minimal, but ok. It was easy access to laundry.

We throughly enjoyed our time in Asheville. The condo was in a perfect location to get to experience everything we wanted to in Asheville. The City Bakery downstairs is a must for breakfast. The pastries and bagels are divine.

The Perfect Asheville Base Camp

We spent three nights at this King James Building condo. The unit was very comfortable and was spotless. The location made all Asheville sights very convenient and the lower level bakery/coffee shop and restaurant/bar were a plus. We would certainly stay here on a return trip to the area.

Great apartment, great location

Older brick building, so not the most impressive look from the street, but very quiet, solid walls, and never heard any neighbors during my 4 night stay. Very clean, well stocked, nicely sized apartment. Close to restaurants and stores. Would very definitely recommend this place again, and will stay here again if in the area!

Comfortable stay in Asheville

This condo has everything that we needed for a short stay. It is in a beautiful old building but is modern and comfortable. A couple of suggestions- get a different bed. The current one is too big for the bedroom. It is very difficult to maneuver around it. Also, add a dozen coat hangers to the closets. We enjoyed the location and had no concerns with noise on the street or from the restaurant or bakery below, both of which serve delicious food!

Comfortable and easy walk to down town. The bakery and restaurant one the ground floor make everything convenient. Apartment has everything needed to enjoy the city. The nearby spa is also great for a relaxing massage!

Place was very clean, great location, and comfortable fit. Unfortuantely, there were limited cleaning supplies: no broom/dustpan, cleaning solution, sanitizing wipes, etc. and perhaps worst of all, there was only one kitchen sponge which had clearly been used by the previous guests. Other than that, it was overall a good stay.

Wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our time here! The place was cleaned, some traffic noise, but it honestly didnโ€™t bother us. The location is great! Short drive to area breweries, restaurants, and can even walk to a grocery store. Biltmore was also a short drive. If you want a place that is close to a lot, then this is the place!

Perfect spot

My husband and I stayed at the King James for a long weekend getaway. This condo was centrally located and a short drive to all the spots we wanted to check out. The condo was on the third floor, there is not an elevator but the steps are wide (was worried they would be narrow trying to get our belongings upstairs). The only suggestion I could make is to have another mirror maybe on the bedroom door, two people trying to get ready at the same time is a little difficult when the only mirror in the place is in the bathroom. Other then that the condo was perfect and just what we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable

We were very comfortable at this condo. The property is not super fancy, but was clean and secure. I appreciated the secure building. The property has a butcher shop, bakery and restaurant downstairs. We tried and enjoyed all of them. There are some restaurants close by. There are 3 grocery stores all about a ten minute walk from the condo. It is about a 15 minute walk to the downtown area. The parking is included and is in the lot right next to the building. There are stairs to get into the unit, which could be a challenge for some. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We used the kitchen daily to cook meals. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed the property.
