That's the downside of us trying to provide the primest location (it costs us a fortune). So you know, curtains were never part of our design, but the BC Building Code wouldn't allow us to proceed with our original plan for full doors and mandated we use curtains instead (for easier egress in case of emergency). Part of the issue is that we're in a 'heritage'-type wood-framed building. But our next property, and all subsequent properties thereafter, will most definitely have pods that have solid walls on all sides. That being said, given the limitations imposed upon us, we've tried to mitigate the noise issue within the constraints we face as best we can, including the inclusion of acoustic channels all pod walls, sound-absorbing materials, and a fan that is as much to create white noise as it is to move air around. And of course complimentary ear plugs at reception if you really need them. We also take a zero tolerance policy to guests who make noise, and our general clientele are exceptionally respectful. We're also proud to say we haven't had a single 'security' issue in our nearly 6 years of operations, so that says something!Warm regards,The Team at Pangea

Hi Moises Agustin,Thanks for staying with us for 3 nights, and for your comments.As we wrote to you under separate cover, the deposit we took at check-in (otherwise called a preauth or an authorization) is simply a 'hold' on your card to cover items you might purchase while you’re staying at Pangea, like at the café/bar, or to cover damage. To be clear, a preauth is not a charge.In your case, we released the hold the same day you checked out (in technical terms, we completed your preauth for 0.00). However, depending on your bank’s policy – not ours – it can take up to 30 business days for that hold to disappear from your statement. For any questions on your preauth, including when it’ll be removed, please contact your bank directly.Please also note that, while the initial ‘hold’ may result in an alert on your mobile banking app, the subsequent ‘release’ will not (don’t ask us why, but that’s just the way the banks do it). We’ve found that many guests think the deposit is still active simply because they haven’t received a ‘reverse’ transaction alert, but once they log into their account and view their actual credit card statement they realize that the preauth was released by their bank long ago.Regardless of the above, we hope to see you back at Pangea in the future, and provide a flawless experience when we do!Warm regards and thanks again for being our guest,The Team at Pangea
