B&B in North River

'This place is unbelievable. If you are looking for a relaxing, quaint, quiet and romantic weekend with your other half, this is it. Nestled in the countryside near Staunton on an actual working farm, this B&B hits all the requirements. Close to Staunton and many wineries.The owner, Bill, is a fantastic host and Amanda, and her dog Layla, are awesome.We had an excellent time and stayed in the Swoope suite with a hand-hammered copper tub and fireplace. 'We pulled in at 5pm and were promptly greeted by Bill (Judie's husband). He checked us in and gave us a brief tour of the building and the farm. Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the bathroom with the slipper claw foot tub was very nice. It was modern but maintained much of the character we appreciate. Breakfast was excellent, and included an impromptu lesson from Bill on (re)construction of the premises. Unfortunately Judie was under the weather, so we didn't get a chance to meet...

'It was easy to check in! The suite was very clean and quiet. We slept well. In the morning, we enjoyed our conversation with Katie while we ate a hearty breakfast. Katie was both friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the house and the surrounding area. A good experience, over all.'

'I absolutely loved this comfortable and hospitable place. The communication was amazing and the extra little touches to make us feel welcome and at home plus the overall atmosphere was just perfect. I wish I could have stayed longer and explored the town which looked charming but I want to give a nod to the terrific little corner cafe we walked to for dinner where the service was friendly and the food delicious.
