  • Welcome to McNaron Escape, a luxurious lakeside retreat on the shores of Lake Norman–under new management since January 2024!

    Seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living, enjoy the spacious layout of the main level, complete with a screened porch and expansive lakeside deck—your ultimate venues for reconnecting with family and friends. Grab a cup of coffee and have breakfast on the porch while being protected from the elements–then venture out onto the lake for a fun filled day! In the later hours gather around the fire pit, soak in the hot tub and roast a s'more together.

    Excellent views of the lake are in abundance as the large windows bring plenty of opportunity to take it all in throughout the rooms and areas of the home.

    Kids and teens will love the loft area featured in this home, as it provides a space for them to be near but still “get away”--complete with their own sectional and living room with tv!

    Consider new culinary adventures in the newly renovated kitchen, boasting ample prep space and a sociable atmosphere–perfect for creating cherished memories and dishes to share. If you're looking to find good eats in town, we have some recommendations for you!

    Immerse yourself in entertainment with top-tier amenities, including a pool table, soothing hot tub, cozy lakeside fire pit, kayaks for water exploration, a private dock for waterfront relaxation, cornhole boards, and multiple SMART TVs.
    McNaron Escape comfortably accommodates 10 guests, with 3 bedrooms plus loft area and 2.5 baths.

Cozy Upscale Lake House

Very conformable, clean and beautiful home. We loved our stay, enjoyed the firepit and the great outdoor deck and grill. Very nice interior and beds! Property manager was great to work with!

Excellent clean house

This has made the list of one of the best VRBOs we have stayed in. The view is great. The house was impeccably clean. Beds comfortable. Very warm welcome to the home. We were there for just a weekend but wished we had time to stay longer!

This property was everything it listed and more. It was comfortable, cozy and clean. I went to relax and there was plenty of that. I highly recommend this escape house, simply beautiful.

Lake Norman Tranquility

Our family of 4 stayed 10 days in June at this lovely home. The house is located at the end of a beautiful peaceful cove just off the main lake, within easy distance to Lakeside restaurants and downtown for shops, meds, etc. Carolina Destinations made everything easy from check-in to check-out and extremely responsive to any questions. The home is gorgeous with everything you need and more for a perfect vacation stay. All bedrooms were airy with big, comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms and showers. Spotlessly clean throughout. We made use of the large dock and jet ski lift for our boat and jet ski, and although there are a steps up to the property, they aren’t steep. Beautiful home on beautiful location! Would definitely return!

Perfect Rental in every way!

Better than description, kitchen well stocked n appliances were top of the line. Being a boating family, the location was great, stumpys marina, 4minutes away, in a cove where boat doesn’t get the waves from main channel, close to everything!!! We can’t say enough about how awesome McNaron Escape is, and communication from Drew was top notch!!!!

2023 Girls' Weekend

My girlfriends & I get together once a year to "decompress" from our daily lives. We started doing this in 2018 & this house has been by far the best! There was more than enough space for the 8 of us, which was a big plus. Thanks for having us!

Fantastic view and 3 ground floor bedrooms!

Really enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised in the listing. Great view from the large living room and deck. We had older people in our party so 3 bedrooms on the main floor was a big plus. Well-stocked kitchen allowed us to shop at the nearby Harris Teeter (5min) and cook every meal at the house. Drew was great to work with and answered all of our questions and helped us secure a local boat rental. We would definitely stay at this property again!

Beautiful property! Brand new hot tub didn’t work until our last night in the house but will be great for anyone looking for soak. 15 - 20 mins from Mooresville and if there isn’t any traffic it’s an hour from the airport.

Immaculately clean and stunning property

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home on lake Norman. It’s located on a quiet cove in a gorgeous residential area. No detail left behind, including heated bathroom floors and a chef’s kitchen. The home was clean and inviting with plenty of linens including beach towels and extra pillows and blankets. Communication with rental agency was thorough and timely. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Lovely lake front stay

Had a lovely long weekend at the property. Very clean except outdoor chair cushions are getting a little dirty/moldy. Check in and check out were very straightforward. Some new-build construction noise from an adjacent property about which we werent warned but still highly recommend the property.

Perfect lake retreat

We love this property! It’s exactly as described (actually better)! Spotless. Amazing views of the lake, particularly at dusk and in evening from the patio and hot tub (with TV). Dock was terrific, with lots of fish biting. Beds are super comfortable. Gourmet kitchen. Pool table, corn hole, fire pit, l water sports and more. We will be back to this property when we visit Lake Norman again. Highly recommend!

Excellent Vacation Home

This was about the most enjoyable vacation I have ever had. The house was exactly as promised. What you see in the pictures and description is what you will see when you move in. Check in was seamless. The house was spotless; and we are usually very critical customers. Southern Charm contacted us right after check in to see if all was good, a very nice touch. Southern charm was also very attentive during the visit. I notified them about a very small problem (I didn't really ask them to address it), but someone was there within and hour. The house was move it ready. The bedrooms were large, the pictures on the website were not staged to appear larger than they were. The kitchen had all the utensils and flatware that you would need to enjoy your visit. There are TV's in every imaginable location; the living rooms, bedrooms, screen in porch and outside spa area. They had Direct TV with other streaming services. The area was very quiet. Dock access was down some stairs. We took advantage of the kayaks almost every day. We did rent a boat and tied it up to the dock. We swam every day off the dock. It is about a 10-minute ride to the main channels in Lake Norman. The house is in a good location. It is about 3 miles from the nearest supermarket, and about 5 miles from commercial areas of Mooresville. I 77 provides good access to Charlotte. The airport is about a 45 minute ride. I would definitely recommend the McNaron Escape and Southern Charm for a vaction in the Lake Norman area.

Summer Fun

Great open kitchen/livingroom area for spending time together. Super comfy sofa! Loved the covered outdoor area for when it rained. It was nice having a few kayaks and paddleboard on site. The kids had a blast in the lake and the area upstairs they name the "kids cave."

Wonderful Spring Getaway

McNaron Escape was beautifully maintained, and had everything you could want for a wonderful family vacation. We only had one minor hiccup, which was quickly resolved by the management company, Southern Charm. This home has a spectacular view, and an awesome dock and entertainment area. One caveat, if you are a family like ours who drive larger vehicles, or may want to bring your own boat, the driveway is extremely narrow and steep, and there is not a lot of room for multiple vehicles to park, or to park a boat trailer. Otherwise beautiful location overall, and one I would highly recommend!

Litmas on The Lake

The home was beautiful! Clean! And has everything we needed. With the exception the water heater didn’t work in the hot tub for our stay - Major major disappointment for my husband and family. Also we had quite a few complaints made on us and they even called police on us while we were there. The complaint was our music had bad words in them - not an actual noise complaint. Police walked the property and even came behind the home and was reaching to enter into the back doors when my husband and I noticed. As a family of retired Marine and Soldiers with plenty of women’s on the property - it Made for some uncomfortable evenings as it was a PJ & Xmas Onesie weekend - Overall the management handled the complaints and worked great with the police department to maintain the integrity of our vacation and we are grateful that everything went well in the end. The company did refund us some cash for the hot tub being inoperable and also applied a military discount that hadn’t been applied before (I used my military ID to book) the checkout list I found to be ridiculous (if you’re paying a cleaning fee - it should include those tasks for the cleaning team not the members of the house and if that’s the case - The checkout time should be noon) I plan on returning to Southern Charm for my Lakehouse Needs in the future and I thought that Jeremy was an AWESOME AWESOME HOST! Thanks so much for everything and see you next year!
