Barbara's Beach House at Palmetto Beach, Avenida Mangle, Caye Caulker, Belize.
Barbara's Beach House (The Pink House) is the second building behind Laura's Lookout and Sandy's Secret (The Blue House). Located at the West End of our private pool, Barbara's is a three bedroom house, situated perfectly to ensure that you can enjoy the best that our quiet secluded lot has to offer while still having easy access to the airstrip or the main town of Caye Caulker which is just a 5-10 minute bike ride or a 10-15 minute walk away.
The interior of Barbara's has a traditional island feel, built throughout with the beautiful hardwoods that Belize is known for. Floors, ceiling and furniture all reflect this craftsmanship, a perfect compliment to the palm trees and sun outside your door. The layout works for either a family or a group of friends and has two bedrooms with King beds and a full bath downstairs; a more private Master Suite upstairs, with two twin beds that convert into a king if you prefer, again with its own full bath.
All beds have pillow top mattress pads and are super comfy the sheets are 400 thread count, and the towels and beach towels are plentiful, thick and lush. If needed, there are two futons in the living room for those who would prefer not to share beds. Each room has its own air conditioner, complete with a remote control, please turn the AC off when not in the room so that we can continue to offer you the best price possible. The living area features an open floor plan that includes a modern kitchen, supplied with any appliance you may need, there is a washing machine and clothesline and access to a dryer if the weather is not cooperating. The dining area and lounge area has a flat screen TV, movie library, Netflix, wi-fi and games.
As you leave the house passing by the front deck that features ocean views and both hammocks and chairs to relax in, down a short flight of stairs, you first encounter the 35 x 15 foot private outdoor pool, available only to our guests, sunken into a wood deck that respects the palm trees that were there before and many chaises for sunbathing. Turning the corner to your right around the house, you encounter the man made beach area, jutting 50 feet into the sea, this provides another area in which to relax and enjoy the sun, there are a couple of palapas on the beach if you want to avoid the sun and corn hole as well as ladder toss to entertain you. Finally, just beyond the beach area, you come upon the 300 foot dock. With three separate entrances to the water below, there is room to dock your boat (if you have one!!), 6 pods extending outward for more room and a palapa at the end of the dock if you require shade. Covered with chaise lounges, you would be hard pressed to find a better place on Caye Caulker to just sit and relax, or watch the incredible sunsets.
Behind Barbara's is a tranquil palm grove with BBQ facilities including picnic tables and a giant Jenga game. Paddle boards and kayaks are available for free, Beer can be bought at the front desk by the bottle, the bucket or a whole case. You can also rent bikes and golf carts at the front desk or book tours with anyone of the many tour operators on the island for fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving or sunset sailing cruises, our staff are there to help. Bikes are available to rent at US $7.50 per bike, per day. We also rent golf carts but supply is limited. We recommend you reserve with us in advance. Bikes and golf carts are a great way to tour about the island...a wonderful adventure for most any age! We have children's bikes, child carriers, and cribs upon request.
Barbara's, as well as all our properties, was built with safety in mind featuring protection on all first floor windows, there is only one entrance to the house. In addition, we have an on-site 24 hour security guard. Our office is open every day from 9:00am until 7:00pm, so there is always someone to help with whatever you may need.
