'Prijs van €125 voor zo’n oude kamer kan echt niet meer! Sanitair is al 20 jaar te oud '

'Ik heb 12 nachten overnacht in Campanile Basildon. Daar heb ik de vriendelijkste, sympathiekste en meest attente mensen leren kennen. Uiteraard heb je voor dat geld geen kasten met gouden randjes of een sterrenrestaurant... Maar ik had een nette kamer, met iedere dag verse lakens, handdoeken en koffie-melk-suiker-theezakjes. Het engels ontbijt was elke ochtend weer heerlijk. Ook 's avonds genoot ik elke keer van een heerlijk avondmaal. Ik snap niet waarom dit hotel zo weinig sterren krijgt....

'The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable, although the room was small, and if you ended up stuck inside, you’d quickly become claustrophobic. Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. There is no public space you can hang out in within the hotel building. The price could not be beat, however. The fan for the bathroom was totally ineffective and...

'All I can say about the property is that it was clean. The owner did repair the loose toilet seat, replace the dead smoke alarm battery, and bring more crockery fairly quickly after I complained. But the listing description was woefully inaccurate and certainly didn't mention the patched and mended state of most rooms. This is not a 10* 'excellent' property. Far from it. If it had been accurately listed (and priced accordingly) then that's fair enough, but I was expecting a much higher standard...

'Clean spacious flat although it's on a very busy main road. We booked it because of the garden but it was unusable because it was totally overgrown so nowhere to sit or stand. Another point I would like to make is that for safety we think there should be a hand rail on the stairs as they are quite steep and there is nothing to hold on to. Location is central to going places in the area.'

'Clean and tidy and had all I needed for my stay. Close to Morrisons which was useful and only a 15 min drive to where I was working. My flat was at the front overlooking the road which is a bit noisy during the day and evening so I had the front windows closed and it was quiet enough at night for me to sleep. The towels are ok but would prefer bath sheets or larger towels than those on offer. I will certainly look to using this place again as I frequently work on Canvey island.'
