« Matfen Hall really is outstanding, my stay was faultless. All staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful- I was greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and my bags were taken up to my room whilst I checked in and relaxed in the Great Hall. Every nook and cranny of this hotel is gorgeous, beautifully crafted and fabulously furnished, including the room I was allocated. It was a generous size bedroom and dressing area with a huge bathroom, stunning views and light and airy in the daytime but warm...

« On arrival the man in reception was very welcoming, very pleasant. In fact all the receptionists were very friendly and efficient. The room was standard so not so big though it was very nice. I can’t understand how my sister booked the same type of room on the same date through hotels.com but at a much cheaper price than us. »

« We were pleasantly surprised. A last minute overnight stay with our dog. Excellent food and the staff were all welcoming , helpful and kind. No additional charges for our dog. Our room was large, comfortable and provided everything we needed. Garden at the back enabled easy walking for the dog. Location is great with walks locally and plenty to explore. We will be back for a longer stay. Great value for money. »

« The staff are very hospitable and professional. We had an easy check in and the rooms were lovely. Dinner and breakfast were top notch! We were able to get a good recommendation for Hadrians Haulers as well. Thank you it was a delightful experience. »

« Medi, the chef, and his wife, Daniella, run the Inn and gave us both a warm, friendly welcome. The room was tidy and clean and we both had good night's sleeps even though the room was above the pub..I recommend Medi's Eggs Benedict which was fantastic and he also catered in the evening with great home made food - I had the best fish and chips I've had for many a year..I'd recommend the Sunday roast too which was awesome and over generous...and reasonably priced... Next time we're in the area...

« The hotel has seen better days: it's a bit grubby in the corners and the fitments are ageing. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is quite good, but--strangely for an airport hotel--they don't start serving till 7.30. By 10.00 guests are meant to leave the hotel! »

« This was my first time staying at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park but it certainly won't be my last. Lovely hotel, excellent gym / pool / spa facilities, plentiful parking, lovely food and drinks, lovely staff, lovely room with a huge window for lots of natural light. Highly recommended. »
