The house was capacious, with an attractive room layout, comfortable for the all of us (four kids, 7 adults), allowing both for places to congregate as a family and also for privacy. The beds were very comfortable; the heating system worked rapidly and well. The children loved the play spaces - the pool table, the arcade machines - and the adults were happy with the roomy kitchen and the dining room, ample for all of us. The neighborhood was pleasant, with a small playground nearby, next to a horse/pony paddock. Grocery store was a short drive. Should the need arise to return to Austin for another family gathering (this was a wedding), we would definitely consider staying there again. Some minor issues that could be easily addressed: more tea towels (we found only one), more wash clothes, more cutlery, a water pitcher, a larger coffee maker other than a Keurig (the drip filter was a 1-cupper, not sizable enough for a house this big, and there was no kettle to heat water in for coffee or tea), tissue boxes, hand lotion, more scrub cloths for the dishes. These are inexpensive, trivial in themselves, but would make a big difference in the comfort of renters. One last recommended improvement: quicker and clearer communication about the payment and check-in process. Payment was to a company not in the VRBO listing, which made us nervous. The week we were to check in on Friday we were first told that we would receive the info on Tuesday but there was nothing until Friday.
