« It was just me and my son for an overnight stay. I hadn't paid for a sea view room and ended up with a large corner ensuite room with free tea/coffee,(Kettle). When we left the room the door wouldn't lock so went to reception to report it,in the meantime I went to get my car as I'd got a space in the hotel car park (very limited spaces £6.00 for the night).Back at the hotel they gave us another room a sea view with no extra charge. « A fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy to find with ample car parking at the rear. Warm welcome at reception and friendly efficient service. Room was immaculate and very well maintained. Great night’s sleep, quiet location and comfortable bed. Breakfast was fab, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and would happily stay there again. Thank you to all the staff at the Mayfield for a very comfortable stay. »

« This were lovely rooms (we booked two, as there was a group of four of us) and they were identical, except one had a shower, the other a bath. They were spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfy. Staff were very helpful, it is worth noting they don't serve food on Sundays but we were guided to a local pub within five minutes walk as an alternative. »

« Chambre exiguë, à se demander si ce n'était pas une chambre de bonne reconvertie (3 m de large sur 4 m de long), eau bouillante pour la douche à 2 reprises (2 matinées de suite) : merci pour les migraines de la journée ! Pas de wifi dans les chambres : nécessité de se rendre dans les salons et à l'accueil situés au rez de chaussée pour se connecter à internet avec smartphone et pc portable. »

« Das Hotel hat eine erstklassige Lage. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick sind klasse. Die Sicht auf‘s Meer ist traumhaft schön. Das Viertel hinten raus ist sehr schlicht und nicht so prickelnd. Man muss ein paar Meter laufen um in schönere Ecken des Ortes zu kommen. Herausragend ist das Personal, alle, wirkliche alle Mitarbeitenden sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch der Chef des Hauses ist toll, er hat uns bei einem Problemchen schnell geholfen. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist typisch englisch und...

« The Maynard is a very atmospheric hotel. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable, a perfect refuge at the end of the day. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was good. On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly woman. »

« Employés vraiment souriants et accueillants. Hôtel désuet, en rénovations mais vraiment en décrépitude. Chambre supérieure non conforme aux photos. Impossible de voir la vue sur la mer comme annoncé car la fenêtre est en décrépitude et la vitre opaque. Télévision non fonctionnel. Plafonds ouverts. Ne vaut pas le prix du tout. Literies neuve et propre. Hôtel avec potentiel mais non actuel et vraiment tombé en ruines. »

« What a lovely hotel. We stayed in a different one around the corner the night before and what a difference our stay here was. Staff friendly, accomodation and nothing was too much trouble! The food was beautifully cooked! Homemade nom nom. We were made to feel welcome and will be going back with our little boy for sure! Thank you, your staff are a credit. »
