Follow EN17, VN Poiares @ the bridge. Follow EN110, Penacova @ the roundabout of Portela. Continue for 1.1 km, the entrance gate is on your right.

Wat je kan verwachten

Nadat je 's ochtends je gids hebt ontmoet, word je naar Penacova gebracht en voorzien van de kajakuitrusting en wat instructies. Vertrek dan vanaf de stuwdam van Carvoeira voor een kajaktocht met een totale lengte van 18 km.

Je kajakt door de natuurlijke vallei van de Mondego rivier, omgeven door uitgestrekte bossen. Terwijl je stroomafwaarts vaart, kom je langs de kleine dorpjes Ronqueira, Rebordosa, Louredo, Foz do Caneiro en Casal.

Dit deel van de rivier zit vol kleine strandjes waar je kunt stoppen voor een picknick of waar je kunt gaan zwemmen. Op het rivierstrand van Palheiros vind je een kleine bar waar je een ijsje of een koud biertje kunt kopen.

De rivier heeft meestal een lichte stroming, waardoor kajakken gemakkelijk en toegankelijk is voor alle leeftijden. Eindig in Torres do Mondego, na 3-4 uur kajakken en pauzes onderweg. Reken op een aankomst tussen 15.00 en 17.00 uur.

Turn immediately left (towards Parque Verde/Exploratorio). After the Exploratorio, the parking lot can be found next to the swimming pool.
