Whitsundays: Luxe vakanties

Hibiscus East certainly beat the Bure on the water where i stayed last. The view, the breeze, comfort and stillness is unforgettable. Ill be back and cannot wait.

Our stay was just ok. The trash was still full and in the kitchen from the previous guest, there were dead roaches, there were dirty popsicle sticks by the pool. The coffee machine didn’t work either. A staff member did drop a different one by after I let them know. We also had the doorbell ring at 2am and wake everyone in the house… apparently this is common when the batteries run low? Seems like they should be routinely changed to prevent that from occurring. None of these issues are big, but combined are quite a few blunders considering we paid top dollar to stay here.

This resort is brilliant for relaxing. Only 20 adults on site at any time, which provides a great ambience and chilled vibe. The transfers are magical - we chose the helicopter in, and the boat out. The food was terrific and the accommodation very good with great views. The resort is highly recommended!

Wat heeft club Wyndham ons verwend met een mooi appartement met een fantastisch uitzicht op de haven van Airlie Beach. Parkeren onder het appartement en een mooi zwembad. Het ontbijt heeft ons positief verrast net zoals het diner in het restaurant, heerlijk. Vriendelijk personeel en een goede ontvangst.

First room was terrible! Spiderwebs, and very unclean, barely 3 stars, dated and very dirty! The bed was terrible! probably one of the worst ever in our travels - the mattress completely sank and couldn’t sleep! We got upgraded to the next category which was acceptable and close to 4.5 star perhaps. Dinner at the Pacific was average and expensive. Not good value. Breakfast was probably 3.5 star. The best dinner and highlight was Amici’s which we were fortunate to experience on our last evening. The island itself is spectacular and one of the most beautiful in the world. I think what let the overall place down was the lack of cleanliness and the lack of attention to detail as well as the food. The staff were lovely. However the service when we were ringing to request things was terrible as most of the time our calls were not answered. Overall a paradisaic experience let down by a lack of resources, passion and training - let down by humans - a paradise deserves perfection at least close to it .. the intercontinental fell very short of the mark and what could’ve been.

Het is een vijf sterren appartement, maar dat vind ik het niet waard. Het bubbelbad is veel te klein voor een volwassene en de zogenaamde Hydro Massage douche is niet meer dan een douchekop met een krachtige straal water erachter. De locatie is prachtig en een airco in woon en slaapkamer is prettig, maar de prijs kwaliteit vind ik niet overeenkomen met elkaar

qualia is one of the most beautiful properties we have visited. The setting, architecture, views, and atmosphere truly feel special and uniquely Australian. Our arrival experience was excellent. Noemi provided a warm airport pickup, smooth check-in, and a thoughtful overview of the property and room. The accommodations themselves were stunning. We also had an incredible “Best of Both Worlds” tour with Pedro, who was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate about the island. It was one of the highlights of the trip. The main challenge during the first 24 hours was inconsistency in service attentiveness. At times, particularly at the pool and during our first dinner at Long Pavilion, service felt less proactive than expected for a property at this level. Drink refills, reservation follow-up, and simple check-ins occasionally required prompting rather than feeling naturally anticipated. What truly elevated the experience was the response from leadership. Rebecca, the General Manager, was exceptional: thoughtful, responsive, attentive, and genuinely interested in feedback. Her professionalism and accountability significantly improved the remainder of our stay. Beach Club dinner was another standout, with warm staff, relaxed pacing, and beautifully prepared food and cocktails. Overall, qualia delivers an extraordinary setting and many memorable moments.
