'We booked The Star for a midway stop between travelling home and found the owner to be really friendly and anything we needed he was happy to oblige! Great view from the beer garden and the food we had in the evening was amazing, highly recommend for couples or even a family stay 😊'

'Disappointing stay raised with the manager but no meaningful resolution. The staff were friendly and the room had some positives, including clean linen, a good-sized TV and convenient parking, but unfortunately the overall experience was very poor. The hotel felt in need of a thorough clean and better maintenance. There was thick dust on ledges and surfaces, smeared glass, sticky breakfast tables, dusty artificial plants and noticeable limescale in the bathroom. The extractor fan did not work,...

'It's a scam on Expedia!!! The Bear Inn exists, but you need to book through their website. We booked through Expedia and theses were scammers - the Inn hadn't heard of us and thought very sad for us and trying to help us, we needed to find new rooms for the night....AVOID!!!!'

'The location is great. We loved having the Old Fleece pub next door. The amenities are nice. The biggest issue with this accommodation is the lack of air flow. It can get warm and stuffy in warmer weather. There are no windows, and keeping the door open at night was not an option for us.'

'We have had a nice stay at the Old fleece. The apartment is just above the pub, but you won't hear any noise from it. The apartment is large and well equipped, eg dishwasher, microwave, oven, large screen with Netflix. Unfortunately it's hard to heat the room because there is just a small heating and as it's an old building cold air and noise find their way through the (window)frames. '
