Very disappointing stay. The room was shabby and the breakfast basic. The room needs updating and electric sockets installing near the bed instead of at the table. This was very inconvenient particularly for mobile phone charging.
On the second day of my stay there was a large wedding party which completely took over the hotel and all the public areas inside and out. As a result, there was nowhere to sit so was virtually confined to my room as I was unable to enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Also, some of the wedding party was on the corridor and it was very noisy in the early hours. It should’ve been pointed out to other guests that there would be limited access to public areas on that day. I did mention this as I checked out and the receptionist, though pleasant, said that there was still access to public areas. What she failed to understand was that neither I nor the wedding party wanted to be involved with each other. From now on I will always ask a question if there is a private function at any time during my stay.
This was meant to be a very special trip for me, but I was bitterly disappointed. My two constructive emails to McDonald’s have been ignored, which I find rude and a sad indictment of falling standards.
