I genuinely had such an amazing experience staying in this home. The layout of the house being so open allowed us all to bond in the communal spaces, while still being sectioned enough that the kids could have fun in the basement while we hung out in the living room or played poker upstairs. The kids really had a fun time with bunk beds and the mini movie theatre. It was nice that they also had games to play in the basement so they weren't on their phones as much. The kitchen was lovely and everyone was able to enjoy our meals at the same table together which I really liked. I loved the view from the driveway and hot tub and we were able to watch the sunset each night. Another bonus were the nearby activities so when we got bored of being at home, we were able to drive around town and visit Dollywood and "Goats on the Roof", as well as go hiking at nearby trails. Overall, this home created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and my family and I truly had such a wonderful experience. Everything was clean and orderly and the layout of the house was perfect for bonding with my family combined with a pretty view. I would likely visit again!
What an amazing stay! The cabin was spotless, and the view of the mountains was absolutely stunning. Itâs so peaceful! We had nearly 20 people, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was fully stocked, the rooms were comfy and warm, and the jacuzzi was perfect. We also had so much fun with all the board games, video games, and the movie theater with endless movie options. One thing to keep in mind, if youâre visiting during the winter, it can take a while for the roads to be cleared after a snowstorm. We went during heavy snow and ended up missing our flight because we couldnât leave the cabin until the roads were safe. Definitely something to plan for, but other than that, it was a fantastic trip.
This was our second time staying at The Knotty Logde. We enjoyed it so much 5 years ago that we decided we should come again for our family trip. We love the layout of the house and that there is plenty of space for our entire group consisting of my husbandâs parents, sisters, their children and our children. The three levels allowed us to all be in the same house spending quality time together while also spreading out enough to have our own space. We love that there is a large enough table for the whole group to have meals together!! This was one of the selling points for my mother in law when selecting a location. I wish Iâd brought some more kitchen towels or pot holders though. Preparing a meal for a large group with the starter set supplied wasnât the best. Iâll remember that for next time though! Our favorite activities were sitting by the fireplace relaxing, playing pool upstairs, and playing ping pong downstairs. We love that this cabin has adequate parking and a nice, flat, paved area for the fire pit. We enjoyed making sâmores outdoors. Many other cabins Iâve seen have very short, steep driveways for parking and that was not the case with the Knotty Lodge! The kids enjoyed the option to play outside in a safe space with the tether ball or explore the area of âwoodsâ right next to the parking area. The theatre area and air hockey table could use some updating/maintenance to be enjoyed to the fullest. Besides that, we loved the downstairs area as well.
We love The Great Smokey Mountains and the house was beautifully designed with spectacular views. Furniture, bedding, linens, bathrooms all met our expectations. However there was an issue with a terrible smell coming from behind the walls, there was definitely something dead. I messaged the manager on Thursday when we arrived because we noticed the smell immediately. We didn't get a reply until Friday afternoon, due to the snow they were unable to send anyone, which is completely understandable. Also, the maintenance people were there when my daughters arrived, we know they smelled it also because they went out and bought plug in air freshners. They said they looked around and couldn't find anything. Knowing we were going to have to deal with it we decided to try to find the source ourselves. After getting the code to the utility room we were able to find the problem. We never found any rodents but we found a lot of feces and black stained wood from urine that had to be there for a long time. The smell was so bad we had covered up all the return air vents with foil. The home was perfect otherwise but I wouldn't reccomend staying there unless you know the problem has been fixed.I did send photos to msnagement and she said the problem was going to be addressed immediately. Unfortunately it was to late for our stay.
It was a stunning home!!! My family and friends enjoyed the breath taking views. The house was beautiful and so comfortable!! We were able to gather and eat and play games in the kitchen area! There were 17 of us!! We were a 30 minute drive from Dollywood and Gatlinburg made it very convenient!! I would absolutely stay at this house again!!!
Our family aged 2 to 79 (all 25 of us) stayed in this cabin. It was perfect for us. We don't find many that are because we are 4 siblings with spouses, children, and grandchildren. Two have mobility issues so we need at least 2 bedrooms on the main floor. Young kids need to be near parents. The layout was exactly what we needed.
We have never stayed in a cabin with a kitchen so extravagantly stocked!
We worked puzzles for hours and played games as well. The kids loved the lower level with all of the games and the movie theater. The fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows.
Yes, the drive up was a bit hairy, but we all agreed that it was worth it and only the first time was scary.
We had visits from bears every day we were there. Heads up! They know how to get into the outside refrigerator even with the lock on it! They enjoyed our leftover baked beans and mac and cheese.
After leaving, some of us ate lunch together and my 4-year-old granddaughter said "Call everyone and tell them to go back to the cabin. I don't want to go home!"
We all agreed that we want to rent the cabin again for our annual trip. However, the $3500.00 increase in price from year to year is preventing that. Good-bye to our favorite cabin in 10 years.đđđ
Beautiful and very accommodating. We had a great family reunion. Amy our host was more than attentive and the house was very large and roomy. The drive up the mountain is tough if you are not use to that type of driving, but wow the views are unreal!
Our extended family reunion with 21 members had a fabulous stay at this cabin. Amazing views, plenty of space, and many memories made at this home. Everything is thoughtful and comfy and lots of room in the well-equipped kitchen. The second fridge proved invaluable!
I donât know about you, but a big drawback to VRBOs for us is the challenge of getting access to live TV. The Knotty Lodge has Directv and we were able to keep up on sports, news, and watch movies. Truly appreciated, thank you.
Per previous reviews ⊠Yes the bears come by a couple of times each day! The âstarter setâ of cleaning products lasted a day with our large group and the grocery store is a decent drive away. Be prepared!
My family of thirteenâwife, mother-in-law, adult children and grandchildrenâhad an unforgettable stay at The Knotty Lodge. The description and photos in the property listing are accurate. The views are indeed breathtaking, and we spent hours enjoying them on the deck and by the fire pit. The bedrooms and common areas were perfect for a family or other large group. We could not have been more pleased.
We had a wonderful stay with plenty of room for our whole family. This property is located at the top of the mountain near Townsend were there was little to no cell service and very poor WiFi service in the house. It was clean and had games for the whole family to enjoy. The location is close to all Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg has to offer. Be careful to obey bear awareness! We saw 4 bears during the week that even came on the back porch.
My wife turned 60 so we invited our three daughters and all of their children and their spouses to celebrate in Wears Valley. There was plenty to do for our grandkids and we very much enjoyed the location near Pigeon Forge and Townsend! The cabinâs description was very accurate. We plan to return.
This house was perfect for our family of 9. We were able to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The kids had the basement and enjoyed the games and the videos available to watch. There were many games available to play and we did not use any of the games we brought along. There were also puzzles and the kids chose Sasquatch and then left it for the adults to put together. It was a challenge. We finished it and found that 5 pieces were missing, but we had fun working around that.
The table was long enough for us to have meals on one end and the puzzle on the other.
The very first night we saw, at a distance, 3 bears, a mother and 2 young ones. My granddaughter, who loves bears, was so excited. We watched them from the deck for about a half hour.
We enjoyed not being in the congestion that is Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, but close enough that we could enjoy the attractions. I would not hesitate to return to this house if/when we return to the area for a future spring break.
The beautiful huge cabin, the ease of working with the property manager/owner, the comfortable beds, the well equipped kitchen, the ample parking ( we came from 4 states), the incredible view, the quiet, the bears, the fire pit, the game room and even the hair raising drive up that mountain made for an unforgettable time of making memories for our family.
This property was everything and more! It had a million dollar view of the mountains. The home was fully stocked and had anything you could possibly need. The Management team made planning such a breeze. They communicated promptly leading yo to our stay and were very friendly. 100% recommendation!!!
This is a beautiful property! It has amazing views. The house is well equipped with anything you might need. The old folks hung out on the porch and admired the views. The young adults spent most of their time on the pool table. We had people converging from Indiana, Virginia, and Florida. There was ample parking for our 5 vehicles. It was a quick drive to Pidgeon Forge. We got to see a mom and baby bear hanging out in the ravine. There are houses being built right next door and in front so there was a little bit of construction noise but it didnât take away from the peace or the views! (Both are almost complete) We would stay here again!
We booked this place for a big group getaway. The house is amazing! We had everything we needed. The views were spectacular (especially sunsets). We had 12 adults and 9 children. We loved spending time there and would recommend it to others. The host was very responsive and we ended up getting a free night because the roads werenât safe enough due to ice. She even sent people to help make sure we got off the mountain safely. I would highly recommend this host!
The property was amazing. The home was absolutely beautiful.
Wish we would have booked for two weeks instead of one week.
Host was very accommodating and answered all concerns immediately.
Would definitely stay here again. There was 15 of us.
Take batteries for TV remote controls. This was really the only thing missing.
My family of 15 loved our stay at this cabin! It met all of our needs. I loved everyone being able to sit at that table and eat together. The kids loved the basement area and the hot tub. We only had one issue and it was taken care of within a couple of hours.
