Disgusting owners, lack of compassion
I booked this Vrbo for a fun trip away with my husband and my parents, we’re a close family. Unfortunately, less than a week before our stay, my auntie went missing under suspicious circumstances. The State Police along with search and rescue are still looking for her and investigating her disappearance. We are trying to raise money for a reward for information leading to her return, so I respectfully asked the Vrbo host for a refund. I explained the situation to them, as well as shared news coverage of the case to show them this is an emergency situation. All they were willing to do was refund the cleaning fee, which only amounts to 1/7 of the cost we had to pay. I gave the booking to a family member so it wasn’t totally wasted, but I am DISGUSTED by the lack of empathy. How could they think that was an appropriate solution? There are some horrible people out there, and if you don’t want to deal with horrible people, don’t book here.
