This is the second time we stayed at this hotel. First time was slightly better. Check in went fine, staff was very nice, room was clean. However the heater/ac unit didnโt work properly. Walked into the room which was 75 degrees-very, very warm, which is understandable because Rochester seems to be cold almost all year (lol), but too warm for us Long Islanders. We attempted to cool the room down by lowering the unit, but it wouldnโt work at all, though the unit did make a lot of noise as if it was turning a compressor on and off - it actually didnโt work correctly until about 4 in the morning. The beds were also so firm it felt like sleeping on an ironing board and very noisy all around us. You could hear the people in the rooms next door and upstairs and even very clearly hear everything outside. We have to make one more trip to Rochester, but likely will not be staying at the Hampton Inn a third time - I must say despite my complaints, it is far superior to the Holiday Inn Express down the street from this hotel.
