Welcome to Egret Escape - it`s always a great day to be at the beach!

Egret Escape is a light and bright family beach house in Crystal Beach, on the Bolivar Peninsula. Egret Escape sleeps 14 in 4 bedrooms: 2 king bedrooms and 2 bunk rooms, with 2 full bathrooms. Our family built Egret Escape in 2022, after two decades of building houses on the Bolivar Peninsula.

THE STREET AND THE PARK
Egret Escape is on East Lobster Street in the Sandpiper Beach subdivision. East Lobster is a quiet street that ends in a cul-de-sac. There is no car access to the beach from Barbados Street, so traffic stays light. Gregory Park is across Barbados Street, with only 1 house and the street between the park and Egret Escape. The park has a basketball court, a baseball field, a pavilion with a covered picnic area, a play area, and a lot of open room to run and play games. Egret Escape is a beach house with a park across the street.

THE BEACH
To walk to the beach, head down Barbados Street to the dune crossover. The dune crossover is a real bridge built over the dune, so you walk across the dune onto the sand. The golf-cart beach entrance is just off Trinidad Drive.

INSIDE
The entrance door is at the back of the house and opens into the living room. The living room has a couch, a love seat, 2 chairs and a TV. The kitchen is open to the living room, with granite countertops, stainless appliances, an electric range with the microwave above it, a pantry, and a large island with 10 stools. A table with 4 chairs seats 4 more, so all 14 guests have a seat at mealtime.

The bedrooms are split, 2 on each side of the house, and each side has its own full bathroom.
On one side are the 2 king bedrooms and a bathroom with a tub and shower. The master bedroom connects to that bathroom, and 1 door can be locked to make the master an ensuite bedroom. The master also opens onto its own large uncovered deck, which looks over the street.
On the other side are the 2 bunk rooms and a bathroom with a shower. Bedroom 3 has a queen-over-queen bunk bed. Bedroom 4 has a full-over-full bunk bed and a daybed with a twin trundle. The full-size stackable washer and dryer are beside the bunk-room bathroom.

OUTSIDE
The covered back deck has a table with 4 chairs, 2 loungers and 2 tall-back chairs, and looks over the large fenced back yard. The yard has a play set with 2 swings, a slide and a fort. There are gates at the top and at the bottom of the stairs. Close the gates to keep children and pets on the deck, or open the gates so children and pets can move between the deck and the yard inside the fence. Please supervise children on the stairs.
Under the house is a big gathering space with a charcoal grill, a counter for preparing food, 2 tables with 8 chairs, and 6 stools. The stools include 3 at a bar along the fence that looks out over the yard and the play set, so parents can watch the children and pets from there. There is also an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water for rinsing off after the beach.

PARKING
There is room for 6 vehicles on the property: 3 on the driveway, 2 under the house, and 1 in the garage, which stays open for guests. A trailer can park here too, and a trailer takes the place of 1 vehicle. Cars on the driveway block in the cars under the house, so park the cars that leave last under the house. Please do not park on the street.

PETS
Adult pets are welcome with prior approval. Up to 4 adult pets are allowed. Pets must be house-broken and at least a year old.

AROUND TOWN
The restaurants of Crystal Beach and The Big Store are a short drive up the road. For a day trip to Galveston on the free ferry, we have a little trick that gets you across in about half an hour instead of hours, and we`ll share it once you`re settled in.

HOUSE RULES - EGRET ESCAPE
By reserving this property, you agree to the house rules below.

1. The primary renter must be 25 or older and must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum overnight occupancy is 14 guests.
3. Gatherings are welcome with prior approval, up to 30 people - family reunions, weddings, birthdays and get-togethers. The event count and the sleeping count are separate. We do not host prom, graduation, or bachelor/bachelorette-type parties.
4. SMOKING: No smoking or vaping inside the home, and nowhere the smoke or vapor can drift back in - that means not on the decks and not near any door or window. Smoking is fine at ground level under the house, well away from the doors and windows. Please put butts out safely and do not leave them in the yard, over the rail, or in a planter. Any evidence of smoking or vaping inside the home, or anywhere the smoke or vapor reaches it, results in a $300 fee.
5. PETS: Adult pets are welcome with prior approval - no pets under a year, and pets must be house-broken. Dogs of any size are welcome, up to 4 adult pets. The pet fee is $100 per stay for up to 2 pets, plus $50 per pet for up to 2 more. Any pet on the property pays the pet fee, whether it stays inside the house or outside. Pets stay off all furniture and beds - please bring your own sheets or blankets to cover anything your pet will be on. Clean up after your pets inside and out. Undisclosed pets result in additional fees, and a $150 fee applies if the pet rules are not followed. Trained service animals as defined by the ADA are exempt from the pet fee; emotional support, comfort and therapy animals are treated the same as pets.
6. Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out are by request.
7. Please leave the ceiling fans, air conditioning, heat and dehumidifier running at all times, including at checkout.
8. Before checkout: start the dishwasher, start a load of towels, empty the refrigerator, and take all trash out to the outdoor cans.
9. Do not pour grease, oil or food waste down any drain. It damages the sewer pumps, and a repair and cleaning fee will apply.
10. Indoor furniture, bedding, pillows, linens and towels stay inside the house.
11. The charcoal grill stays at ground level under the house and may not be taken to the beach or off the property. No fires of any kind on the decks.
12. Park in the driveway, under the house and in the garage only - the garage is open for guest parking. No street parking, and please do not block a neighbor`s driveway.
13. No RV hookups and no electric vehicle charging at the house. Either one results in an additional charge.
14. Golf carts may not be driven along Highway 87.
15. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM. No amplified outdoor music after quiet hours. At any hour, day or night, please keep the noise at a level that never carries to our neighbors or bothers them.
16. Obnoxious behavior will result in immediate removal from property.
17. Guests are responsible for any damage during the stay. An additional cleaning or damage fee may apply if the home is left in poor condition.
