« We stayed in Cuthberts Retreat for the second time and we enjoyed it very much. Well decorated, clean, complete and cosy. Superb communication with Karin, the owner. « La maison est trÚs grande,bien organisée.Chacun avait son propre domaine.Les chambres sont agréables.Le matelas au salon est cependant bien mou.Le barbecue a servi dans le joli patio.On est à 10mn à pied du centre de Kelso,jolie petie ville aux trÚs nombreux commerces accueillants,bien située dans les Borders et entourée d'abbayes superbes ,surtout celle de Dreyburg ,et de beaux paysages.On envisage déjà de revenir.Merci Nikky. »

« The house was perfect for our multi-generational family vacation. The children (2-5 years old) loved the yard and game room, and the adults got the game room to themselves when the children went to bed. The grounds are lovely and well maintained and the house is very comfortable. Martin, our host, was very responsive. We did not rent cars, so we used a tour company for day trips and also used taxis for nearby destinations. Thank you Martin! »

« Well presented, well designed property. Really bright and spacious. Very comfy beds. We loved the hot tub and the location. The only slight niggles - a couple of the dining room chairs were very wobbly and the front of the dishwasher kept coming detached. These were not big problems though and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. »

« Nice enough place to stay, location is great and a good base for exploring the Scottish Borders.However, the property is missing quite a few of the kitchen basics; there wasn't enough crockery for our family of 5.Great hob and oven and all appliances work well, however, whole place shakes when washing machine is on, so timing is key!Electric shower was really not great, but the corner bath is lovely.Most importantly; there aren't 1.5 bathrooms... there is one. One toilet, one bath, one shower......

« Great location and very modern. I like a traditional feel more than the modern but it had everything one needed. However, there was less than 1 role of toilet paper between both bathrooms combined and no soap or shampoo, napkins, paper towels, dish brushes or clothes wash so come prepared. Also, the garbage outside was filled to overflowing before we arrived and we were unable to clean up our kitchen. Apparently, per the neighbor, this is an ongoing problem. The beds were a little uncomfortable....

"La chambre 203 nous Ă©tait rĂ©servĂ©, hors il y a un bruit de ventilation vraiment trĂšs fort depuis le couloir. Le personnel a semblĂ© surpris et il Ă  fallu insister trĂšs fort pour avoir une autre chambre. Le plus surprenant est que ce problĂšme est signalĂ© sur les avis Google depuis trois semaines, donc ils sont au courant
. Enfin l’équipement est vĂ©tuste. L’ensemble nous a gĂąchĂ© le plaisir du sĂ©jour alors qu’il aurait fallu trois fois rien pour que cela soit parfait. Bref nous ne reviendrons pas. "
