"When we booked for a night we were conscious that the hotel is a relatively no frills place (a bit dilapidated, simple furniture, but clean) and expected no luxury. What we also not expected in our room was a continuous very noisy sound of water streaming through pipes (a problem with the airco piping ? a lack of noise insulation between the room and an adjacent technical facility ?). We made a voice recording of the noise and asked reception whether they could explain this noise and perhaps make it go away or offer an alternative room. Our request fell on a cold stone, and we were told by the lady at reception that somebody may come and have a look later that day, but that in any event they could not do anything because the owners of the hotel were abroad (sic). Since the hotel could not remedy the noise issue or offer an alternative room, we decided not to stay and asked for a refund (the room was prepaid through Expedia) which was flatly refused. There was no intention to accommodate us in any way. We had the luck to find a nice alternative hotel just around the corner."

"We had an amazing stay at U Frusteru! Every single detail was just perfect. From the nice sea sunset to the view over the village lights at night. From the delicious diner (thanks to grandma’s traditional cooking skills) to the cosy evenings in the perfectly heated swimming pool (without closing time!). From the peaceful atmosphere in the lounge next to the pool to the sweet goodnight wishes when we went to bed. From the spontaneous way they cared for us to the stylish bedroom with great mattress. From the awesome smell of the Corsican hair conditioner and other bathroom products to the homemade granola, homemade cakes, fruit salad and other delicious options for breakfast. From the heartwarming kindness that we noticed between everybody working there to the way we said goodbye when leaving. So much you can’t feel or know from the pictures, but you will remember forever if you choose to stay with them. "
